Internal DAC vs Lumin U1, T2 ??
Also posted this in the Mcintosh Thread:
Hi, i need some help and advise :
My stereo set : MA8900, Sonus Faber Olympica Nova III.
My next buy wil be a streamer. I have listend to the Lumin T2 in a store before and loved it. But my Mcintosh has a DAC.
Should i go Lumin U1 ?
Will i lose out in performance if i buy a transporter only?
*I love the lumin app/interface, so i dont need suggestions for other brands of streamers.
*I will listen to both the U1 and T2 at home before buying..
Tnx in advance and rock on

Hi Birhan. In my opinion with a Lumin T2 you are going to improve the sound of your equipment a lot. MC 8900 is a good team, but I don't think that the DAC surpasses the Lumin T2. The Lumin streamers (the models I heard) are all excellent for their price / quality.

Hi Andik777,
Thank you for your time and advice. Hopefully next week I will be able to do the test. I will report back about my findings for future reference for people with the "same" questions..
I see you have a Lumin A1, how does that work out for you and have you had prior DAC's?
Have a nice weekend.

Re: Internal DAC vs Lumin U1, T2 ??
Hello, thanks for the good wishes, equally for you. Previously I had other streamers, Oppo sonica, Cambridge 851N, when I bought the Lumin D2 I loved the sound, (from D2 I am a fan of Lumin) to improve the sound of my team buy the A1, the change was surprising, unfortunately or fortunately I sold my A1 to a friend (he is in this forum) now I have a Lumin X1 on the way. My friend has pre and power MC, and the A1 sound drives people who listen to this equipment crazy.

Re: Internal DAC vs Lumin U1, T2 ??
For users who do not already have a standalone DAC that is very good, or are only using the integrated DAC inside an amp, get the T2 and use its analog output.
