This is nothing yet. Wait for 2 per cent of car drivers queuing up.

EVs are great an fun to drive, but the model does not scale yet.

I have had to wait at a Supercharger also. So far it has been twice, both in Southern California when visiting my daughter and grandkids. One at the Westfield Mall charger near Culver City and once in Orange County after visiting Steve Williams (of WBF). Otherwise, I could immediately find a spot. Will have had my Tesla for seven years in February. Normally they are next to Malls or restaurants, so we go shopping or eat while the car charges up. Of course, when we are driving locally, we just fill up with electrons at night at home - plug in and go inside. The timer is set for midnight the time for the lowest cost electricity. In equivalent cost, we get about 100 miles per gallon.

I have i3 ReX in our secondary residence in the South of France, I have done around 7500 km within 2 seasons, the average consumption is 13,5 kWh/100 km plus some 40 l of gas ,I charge the batteries only at home at nights when tarrifs are cheaper, all together around 2,3-2,5 euro for 100 kms.
Very nice city and short distance car ( up to 150 kms radius) but not convenient for long journeys.

Re: Teslas wait in line to be charged in California on Thanksgiving

I have never had to wait at a Supercharger. This seems to be more of an issue in California then anywhere else as the Tesla penetration there is the highest in the country. The more chargers that go on line by Tesla and Electrify America this will be less and less of an issue.
