    Record Clamps

Here is all over the board topic, record clamps.

What have you tried and liked on what turntable? I get the variable and use your ears factor, just curious.

I came across Shun Mook at $4800 and reached for an oxygen mask. Claimed to be 100’s of years old African Ebony, simply wow.

Expensive, but with less of snake oil: Stillpoints LPI. Costs $499,- and works really well.

    I never use anything else.

Rex, if I pulled the trigger on something like that and my wife found out, it would cost me 7 figures.

Now with that being said Kuzma has an African Ebony model as well backordered at $1600.

Still wood, aluminum, steel how do they all best contribute?

hi, just to clarify, you use the stillpoints in place of the AMG stock record weight? And do you find a substantial improvement in sound?

    Re: Record Clamps

Crap, my phone rang and I lost 5 paragraph. In short, go to Audionirvana and look up record clamps there. Those guys know and have opinions about them. Also look at how they clean on the table. IE, brush or air. Records players are way more complex than anyone wants to admit. But it's fun for them. Just like building out the backbone of the power supply for digital has been for us. Also ask Joe about his tape on the platter.

I also use the LPI. It is overpriced, but it does the trick. Definitely removes some hash from the signal.

    Re: Record Clamps

I really like the Stillpoints LPI on a VPI turntable. On the VPI website under videos for the VPI Avenger, even Harry Weisfeld is using one instead of his own VPI one.

    Re: Record Clamps

Another vote for Stillpoints LPI. I was using the much more expenisve Clearaudio Reference clamp, but when I got the LPI music had more of a sense of ease and flow to it.

    Re: Record Clamps

I my experience the Clearaudio Statement clamp used in conjunction with my Clearaudio Innovation turntable was more far more musical than the LPI
    and worth the additional cost.

I got one for a long spindle. Then I do not need to worry about long or short.

I use the Stillpoints Long Spindle LPI on my Clearaudio Master Innovation. Also on my Acoustic Signature Ascona. Thinking about whether to try something new for the Ascona...

Where is AJ when you need him to say it's all in your minds.

I never use a clamp. I really don't use vinyl as my digital is far better. But I do dabble so, what changes do you hear. Outside the non descript 'musical'.

    Re: Record Clamps

Hmm, my signature is pretty outdated.
I use Ampsandsound Casablanca monoblocks. My preamp is rhe Paramount series now. True mono.

My server is Mojo Auduo Deja Vu paired wirh the Mystique V3 DAC.

I have all cat 6 blue jeans ethernet. I have 3 dedicated linear PS feeding my modem, router and Linear Solution switch.

I also have the Add-POWER Symphony and electraclear at my rack and a second Electraclear at my server station.

I have spent a lot of time tuning my digital.

My vinyl is pretty much unchanged. Allnic H1201 to a table that started as a RP6. Then got so bastardized all that is left is a brand new motor and speed controller. My analog is very clear with geat bass and high end extension. The problem is the sound stage is compressed between the speakers, and in the restraint is a kind of "ball" around the music. Sort of a veil. It something holding the sound. Hard to explain. Played alone vinyl is pretty wow. Play the same track on digital and it's another owe wow. Much nicer.
