    Top Level integrated

I'm looking at Integrated that could compete with 50k worth of separates :

    Vitus SIA-030
    Aavik U-380
    CH Precision I1
    Dan d'Agostino Momentun integrated used

    to drive Borresen 01 speakers.

    any suggestions ?

All are good choices. My favorite among that group is the D’Ag.

Try the Esoteric F5; at 10 K MSRP, ITS a bargain compared to some of the above listed.

I'm only looking at top of the line integrated, amps like Gryphon Diablo 300 is good but not in the same league.

    Re: Top Level integrated

I'm a little biased but I would go for the Aavik U380. Currently I have the U300 driving Borresen 03's. From what I've heard the U380 is an almost total re design. The only things that stayed the same is the case and pascal class D module. It now has multiple power supplies and the pre-amp section from the C300. New dac's and phono stages with HT bypass. Power spec is still 300W. They also added D-TC noise dithering too. My local dealer showed it at the RMAF with the 01's and when his equipment comes back I want to compare it to the U300 and more importantly the C300 with M300 monos.

    Good luck
    George

Aavik U300 - Borresen 03 with optional Supreme D-TC feet - Naim unitiserve 2tb - Ansuz DTC digital cable with power box - Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC with 1 Ansuz Supreme D-TC and 1 Ceramic V2 power cords - Ansuz Ceramic V2 speaker cables - Ansus X Ethernet - pARTicular Novus full suspension rack.

That statement is hilarious. I can understand if you don’t like the Diablo sound signature. But to say it is not in the same “league” as the others is just wrong, IMHO of course

The other option is to keep my Thiel CS 3.7 to start with and get the D'Agostino Momentum integrated.
Upgrade the speakers after 2-3 years.

I would choose the CH Precision I1. It's got the control, drive and neutrality to make the Borresen speakers sign. It's also modular with streaming, DAC and Phono options which makes it more or less future proof.

Another great contender would be the new Boulder 866 integrated.

Yes but this is more in the D'ag Momentum price range, a bit too much IMO for a simple but very good musical rig.
Within 30k there is the CH I1, Dart CTH-8550 mkll, Vitus SIA-030, Boulder 866, Ypsilon Phaeton and Ghyphon Diablo 300.

If it were me, I'd go ahead and get the speakers and get them settled in before auditioning several amps that fit with your room, rig, music and listening tastes. You have some outstanding amps listed, some quite different from others, but you haven't given us much insight into your room, music, listening preferences, etc.

It’s absolutely right there with the best. We consider the Diablo 300 and T+A PA3100HV the best in the store. A real sleeper is our MBL N51.

Wish I could fit the T+A PA3100HV and a really good DAC/streamer into my budget. But I'm afraid my budget is at least a few thousand bucks shy of that. However, the Pass Labs int 250 has gotten some outstanding reviews and comments on the forums. And, IMHO, the int 250 matched with the MSB Discrete DAC/streamer and second option power supply would be a formidable combination. My 2 cents worth.

    Re: Top Level integrated

Short list of end game integrated amps : d'Agostino Momentum Int, Audionet Humboldt, Vitus SIA-030, CH Precision I1 and Soulution 530 Int.
So far i only auditioned the CH and the Vitus.
From first impressions i was more convinced by the Vitus as opposed to the CH, will audition the CH again within a week or so.
Still don't know what to think of the Audionet Humboldt auditioned at Munich this year, didn't like the Dynaudion paired with it.
The Vitus seems to have the best performance to price ratio of the bunch IMO but the Momentum might be the best long term investment.
Please share your experience if you are familiar with some of them.

Yes, we took one on trade about two months ago. Awesome machine, just like the Momentum amps. Very organic and rich sounding like the Vitus. Both are excellent.

Have you demoed the T+A PA3100HV?

Thanks for the feedback, i have auditioned the PA3100HV 2 years ago at Munich, didn't find it as engaging as the d'Ag or the Vitus.
The T+A is probably closer to the CH Precision I1 in terms of tonality even though i found more liquidity in the CH.
I would have to audition the T+A again but not in show conditions.

Vitus and d'Agostino are certainly more rich and organic compared to the electronics from CH Precision, which are very neutral without any obvious flavor or coloring of their own.

I would also consider the wonderful Ypsilon Phaethon, which would save you some funds for a great digital front end.

    That's great

I would suggest to try and get the chance to hear the top 2-3 candidates in your home as the final stage of your journey together with your speakers of choice.

This is crucial to get your impressions validated within the right context (= the unique characteristics of your system and home).

Markus i see that you carry Audionet in your store, are you familiar with the Audionet Humboldt ? and how would you describe the sound compared to the Vitus 030 and the CH I1 ?
Is it worth it's €42K price tag ?

The Humbold is on it's way here soon. Physically and conceptually I do believe it can justify the price tag in relation to the competition.

    I did - yes.

There are a lot to say of course, but it's certainly one of the most impressive amplifiers that I've ever encountered with a level of a quality throughout that sets new standards imo.

It can confirm this, where our unit is still improving. There are major leaps in performance during the first 100 hours.

Wow this is amazing guys, i'm very psyched to audition this beast.
This one has been on my shortlist for a while, looks like it's the ultimate integrated when you don't want to bother with separates.
Would love to hear it paired with Borresen 03s.
    Cheers.
