Gryphon Diablo 300 vs Vitus Audio SIA-025 mk II
Hi all,
Wanting to hear from owners and anyone who have auditioned either or both the Gryphon and VA on how each other would compare head to head- strengths, weaknesses etc.
Speakers I am looking to drive are YG Acoustics Carmel 2 or Rockport Atria II.
Thanks.

Re: Gryphon Diablo 300 vs Vitus Audio SIA-025 mk II
Heard extensively gryphon300. Super integrated, a lot of dynamic.,actually explosive dynamic! You might think sometimes it s not reflecting real sound!
Warm, detailed, it has it all, but in my taste it might still lack some magic!
Never hear sia 25, but something inside is telling me the latter is in different league in terms of musicality and magic!

Re: Gryphon Diablo 300 vs Vitus Audio SIA-025 mk II
I owned an SIA-025 for a year. I've owned a lot of amps. Mc, Spectral, Pass, Rogers, a Vitus RI-100, and my current T+A. I wasn't a fan of the 025. Found it too "warm" actually. Quite "slow" and "syrupy." I haven't heard the Gryphon, but I suspect it would be the better choice. The good news is, if you choose the 025 , they are very inexpensive, given the release of the 030 (as I'm sure you know). Good luck!!! P.S. you may want to give the T+A PA3100HV a listen......

The Gryphon Diablo 300 and Vitus 25 are both integrateds with built in Preamps and you wouldn’t use the Vac Preamp is the reason I said you would miss tubes. I don’t remember if you can bypass their preamps and only use the amp section.

Re: Gryphon Diablo 300 vs Vitus Audio SIA-025 mk II
I wish the D300 was within my budget. My budget is about 2/3 of the way there but then I have to purchase a DAC, phono stage, and streaming stuff. That puts the D300 pretty well out of reach for me. But I think there is enough top notch stuff out there that is within my budget ($12,500), I'll find something about as good. Lots of outstanding gear to pick from. I'll get to audition a D300 in October. So, at least I'll get to hear how it stacks up against other top shelf stuff. But, from what I've read on the net, the D300 is pretty hard to beat from about any aspect.

Re: Gryphon Diablo 300 vs Vitus Audio SIA-025 mk II
Interesting follow up on gryphon300.
Yesterday my friend brought all his system to my home.
He wanted to know why i m so happy with my new speakers : cube audio nenuphar.
Full range, single driver, no crossover 6 ohm and 92db.
His system consists of:
Gryphon300+dave+mscaller+n10.
Pc from true signal, sc sablon t.o.r, ic: atlas mavros
Pc for gryphon:t.o.r sablon.
I drive my speaker with mbl c51, 300 w class d .
Guess what? Gryphon is an amazing match to these moderately sensible speakers!
My friend was speechless, anticipating a bad match!
I guess gryphon when used at low volume, throw class A only power, and that s what these babies like the most.
Top gryphon300.
Ticks all our boxes .
I will not elaborate more here about what kassandra ref2 dac did when replaced dave+ mscaller.if somebody interested pm, i will be happy to explain.
Regards

Re: Gryphon Diablo 300 vs Vitus Audio SIA-025 mk II
The Antileon Evo price...$24,000?...Yikes!! Outta my league. But then, so is a Ferrari. Maybe after I'm in high end audio a little longer (I'm a virtual newb) I'll get used to such price tags. OTOH, I've been looking at and seriously considering $10,000 to $14,000 integrated amps and I find myself swallowing hard at those prices, let alone amps that cost twice as much.
I think it's a matter of priorities. I wouldn't blink at spending $25,000 on a vintage '37 Martin D-18.

Re: Gryphon Diablo 300 vs Vitus Audio SIA-025 mk II
Well, after hearing the D300 live there is no way I could not find a way to own that amp. I've decided to once again strrrreeeeeetttttcccchhh my budget. After hearing one I WILL have a D300.
I initially started out (last February) with a $5000 budget for a new home audio system. I was so naive. Not that $5000 was unrealistic. Not at all. But the more money you spend the more you get. I just didn't realize the cost of upper medium to high end audio systems. If someone had told me I'd end up spending approximately $35,000 on a new home system I'd have thought they (and myself) had brain damage.
Then, after many, many, hours of research and a lot of learning, as I started to become more familiar with the current crop of components and systems my budget started to expand. I can't tell you how many times I was absolutely positive regarding my choice of amp and speakers. I changed my mind regarding my choice of speakers and amp several times.
But having to wait so long to decide on and purchase components for a new system has been a blessing in disguise. It has given me more of an opportunity to audition all the amps, speakers, and DAC/streaming components I'd dreamed of auditioning. If someone had told me I'd end up spending approximately $35,000 on a new home system I'd have thought they (and myself) had brain damage.
At first I was going to make blind purchases without live auditioning, mainly because of the distance I'd have to travel to find a dealer that could meet my audio wants and needs. I had convinced myself there was no way I'd be able to afford a long trip to audition components, let alone finding a dealer with all the components I was interested in. But a fellow forumite suggested just a one or two day weekend trip was all I would need. And I would get to try out virtually all the amps I'd dreamed of owning.....live! Why didn't I think of that? I could handle a one or two day trip. Soooooo, I did it.
Since I'm a relatively recent retiree (four years ago this December) I decided to fund my home audio purchase with money from my pension. The only thing keeping me from purchasing all my components at once.....taxes (capital gains). Sooooooo, my financial adviser recommended dividing my purchases over two years. I ended up purchasing my speakers, stands, cables and connects this year. I'll purchase the remainder of my system (amp, DAC/streamer, Roon Nucleus+, and any incidentals) January 2nd, 2020. Which just happens to be my birthday...
So now you know the rest of the story. The minute my financial adviser opens for business January 2nd, 2020 I'll make the withdrawal and Mike will be a buck or two richer. And I'll be in hifi heaven.

Extremes? What extremes?
Yep. It's been a long journey (started last February). But very, very, thoroughly researched...in print, live auditions, and from a financial standpoint. At least as much or more than most people do. I've had great guidance from Mike and others. Especially Mike. I'll be well prepared and ready.
