Howdy from the Central Valley, California

    Hi all,
I've been a "lurker" here since Dec '18. Recent PM's with MrPeabody have prompted me to at least introduce myself.
    I am a retired Generation Technician/Heavy Equipment mechanic/Millwright.
I had the title of Heavy Equipment mechanic at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where I "worked" for 27 years. Though I worked on 'dozers, loaders, and cranes (Manitowoc 4600 S4 500 ton "ringer", biggest machine I ever worked on), I was also heavily involved with Predictive Maintenance/Vibration Analysis (cert. lvl 2). Was responsible for bearing failure analysis, modal analysis, dynamic balancing, precision shaft alignment, etc. Primarily applied to rotating equipment, pumps, industrial air handling equipment, etc.
I chose to leave LLNL, and became a Generation Technician at a local utility. This involved operation and maintenance of two 50MW gas turbines.
My interest in audio, started in my teens, and was responsible for opening the door to vibration analysis, as well as electrical theory , and application. Frequency, phase, and amplitude were all familiar terms and concepts.
    My system; (currently&#128580
Tyler Acoustics H3 speakers (which I modified the x-overs)
Bi-amped with either a McCormack DNA 125, or CJ 2500a handling the mid/tweeters. Also have a custom p-p KT-88 amp, but it can't handle their 2.8 ohm impedance dip.
The Tylers are supplemented by 2 DIY bass "cubes" (with 2x Peerless 830500 12" woofers) driven by an old Rotel RB-991
Sources are a Sony x7esd (as transport) to a Monarchy M24 DAC (PCM63 w/tubed out)
Also (very occasionally) an AR EB-101 tt, Denon 301 mkII, Budgie pre & SUT

    Thanks guys,
Hey Puma, not far at all. I grew up in Livermore. "Back in the day", I used to see a girl that lived in Palomares Canyon.
