    509X Separate Function

Hi All, I have a random question with my Luxman 509X. Does anyone know when turning on the Separate function if the amp and preamp function completely independently?

I ask because I could have sworn when using Separate function (amp only), when I switched inputs (preamp function) there would be no impact on the amp side while playing music. Now if I change the input or press line-straight there is a short break in the audio on the amp side. Also mute function still operates and will mute the amp. Volume control does not function.

Anyone else seeing the same thing happen?

    Re: 509X Separate Function

    Welcome aboard.

Not sure if this helps any, but-
    Separate function
This unit is equipped with a separate switch to separate the pre-amplifier and power-amplifier each other that enables
the bi-amp connection adding a power-amplifier and the coexis - tence with an AV system.

The manual is really lacking on real world instructions

    Cheers
