Proud Owner of New SoundField Reference Speakers

My first "new thread" ever. Hope it goes well!

So I go to a lot of audio shows and am member of two audiophile societies. I go to live concerts quite often. I have loved this passion/obsession since I was a kid. To me "high fidelity" is all about getting as close to the original as possible. With all its positives and negatives. Live music can be smooth and lovely and live music can be in your face and very intense. Live music has a lot of bass. Like a lot of bass. Whether its Metallica at the forum or my kids' band, live music moves you. So I was looking for a system that would move me. Make my hair stand up (what's left of it). I wanted it all. Imaging, dynamics, super clean super heart thumping realistic bass. Did I mention dynamics. And they have to look darn good because they sit in my living room. And they have to be room friendly cause my room is huge and has tile and sliders and windows. A disaster from a room perspective.

I guess I am just sharing that I have found my absolute sound. I have spoken to many of you at shows and you have found yours too. And we probably disagree on certain aspects of what that means. But so what. How cool is that...we don't have to agree on everything...as long as it moves us.

SoundField 1812 Quintessential. Two hypex 503s per side. Each 503 has 3 amps (500, 500, 100). One 500 for an acoustic elegance 18" and one 500 for the other acoustic elegance 18" per side. Cardiod configuration. Incredibly moving. Then a front open baffle coax. Add a front super tweeter. And a rear tweeter array for ambience. For the low bass, add a 15" with its own amp. And just for fun, another 15" on each side in a separate enclosure. What the heck....

And they look phenomenal. Wife and kids approved.

I have found audio nirvana for me and my tastes. I hope you have found it for you too. Attached are a couple of speaker pics and a quick view of the rest of the system (Aurender, Cary, Audio Research)....

Hi, I had a smaller SoundField 1812 configuration. They are now resting comfortably in another room. They were very very good also but I wanted a new "over the top" version LOL.
