    Re: Constellation vs D’Agostino

Let me preface by saying I own neither brands, nor have I done a direct comparison of those two models.

However, based on my exposure to the two brands my personal taste would have me choose Constellation. I just found the systems I've heard with Constellation more engaging than those with D'Agostino.

Now with that being said, many members here own D'Agostino,

Taurus all day long. The Progression is no S250. Not even close.

Haven’t heard Constellation long enough to compare, let alone the same setup and room, but do have experience with D’Agostino

I have heard them both in similar rooms many times at audio shows. I have come away very impressed with Constellation....

Interesting. I've never been impressed with any Constellation demo I've been to throughout the years. On the other hand - I've been very impressed with Dag Momentum Stereo / S250 / Monos / Integrated and Progression Monos.

Never heard the Progression Stereo though.

Both very good. Depends on the rest of the system.

+1. I've heard the Constellation Series 2 is much better however.

I prefer Dart to all of them - but speaker limited with exception of the 458s.

I have never been able to A/B the products in the same system so I can't really say. I do know that I would take Soulution over Constellation especially if I was pairing them with Magico speakers.

    Re: Constellation vs D’Agostino

I've had the Centuar Stereo (not Centaur II) and I've had the Progression Stereo for in-home demo's. I now own an S250. The constellation had two sets of inputs, one that could use a different gain stage than direct. It sounded very fluid and rich through this and I was impressed. Nicer than the Sim Audio gear I had previously owned. Then I tried the Progression Stereo for a month or so and the bass and full sound was huge. I had to move my speakers out further from the wall the difference was big. The Momentum 250 has that same big full-sound, but more fluid and subtle nuances than the progression. I'm really happy with the S250...

I have a big room (over 20 ft x 30ft and open plan) so that may have also swayed things too.
