I had heard about most of these before, but those Pivetta amps are new to me. A cool $2.2 million for 120,000 watts of power broken out into six 20,000 watt class-A amplifier channels. It’s looming height of more than 8 feet, 3307 lb weight... I'm not aware of any local dealers for an in-home audition. Where do I sign up???

I’ve heard about half of these. The Goldmund and the Audionote were my faves.

The list must be a bit old as it doesn't show the Relentless. Of the ones on the list I have heard the Naim, Krell, one of the Goldmund, Audio Note, Boulder, and FM Acoustics.

I think I could put together a pretty fine system (including room) for this kind of money!

A couple of questions. Particularly on amp #1.
Why would you design and build something like this?
    Where would you use it?
    Who would buy it?
    ??????
    My System:
A trusty old Pioneer PD-65 as a Transport, Lumin A-1, a Merrill Heirloom T.T. as sources. A Lampizator DAC to PAD Cables to a SP-14 Tubed PreAmp, Pass XA30.5 , Fusion speaker cables, AudioKinesis Zephryn 46 Speakers. pair Rythmik F-12 subs, EP2050, Kaplan Power cables, Hydra power conditioner, Two dedicated 20Amp power lines. DIY corner traps and Acoustic Geometry Curves for room treatment.

Maybe someone who owns an oil field or two. I don't think these folks had the US market in mind.

$2.2 million is just the tip of the iceberg. You still need speakers, preamp, source components, room treatments, and cabling. A full system built around that amp could easily exceed $5-7 million. Yikes!
