    Music Server Dreams

Is Lumin considering coming out with an L1-like device that would complement the X1 in both sound quality as well as styling to match the X1's power supply especially if available in black?

Additionally, are the drives in the current L1 mechanical or solid state? If mechanical, are they quite enough to be placed in the listening environment or would the noise be objectionable?

    Thanks in advance!

I doubt it, dont think anyone would pay $2900 retail for an L1 in a nicer case

They are spinning platters, mine makes the same noise any computer HD would make. I have mine beside the X1 and it doesnt bother me

There is no plan for a black L1 at this time.

Interesting idea, an L1 to match the X1 design. It would look very cool.

In my case, my L1 is installed in the A/V closet away from my music room. Don't see it and can't hear it spin. But, I do love the simplicity of plug and play.

Sad to have to put it in the closet but even the hint of noise would be a show stopper for me. If I had one I'd considering retrofitting an SSD of some sort into it and put it out on display.

I've had the L1 in the music room before; it's very quiet.

My A/V closet is actually quite nice with the network switches, Control4 gear, amps for the home built in speakers, properly ventilated, surge protection, etc....So, it is a great place to have the L1 setup.
