Recommendations for a phono preamp with mono switch
It is time to move my Musical Fidelity Phonomena 2 to the closet or holding area. I have collected more mono LPs and it lacks a mono switch. (I have a couple of stereo LPs that sound better through mono as well).
I have two systems. One is what I call my main system, which is where the Phonomena 2 is currently. My budget for a new Phono preamp is $100 to $1500.
I’m looking for the following in a phono preamp:
Must have a mono switch
Must have adjustments for loading at least. (Gain and/or capacitance would be nice as well)
Ability to handle both MM and MC
So what are some recommendations for such a thing I should look at?
I have a couple in mind, but I want to see if there are any more choices.
The choices I have so far are:
Parasound JC 3 Jr
Parasound Zphono XRM
Elac Alchemy PPA2

Recommendations for a phono preamp with mono switch
I used to own the Phonomena. Replaced it with the Nova II. Then replaced the Nova with the JC3 Jr. I prefer the JC better than the previous two.

Take a look at the Gold Note PH-10. Not a bad review out there. Really good bang for the buck.

Yes, and it does. Room costs (we had 3 rooms, including a large ballroom), materials, marketing, brochures, banners, all the staff, shipping, meals, hotel rooms, flights, etc. Figure on $40k. ...
