    Qobuz now playing

    This morning
I decided to give Qobuz a try. I accepted their 30 day free trial offer and subscribed to the Studio Level that allows for streaming music files up to 24 Bit/192KHz. After this first 30 day trial I will be billed $24.99 per month for access to Qobuz at their Studio Level. I downloaded the Windows 64Bit app onto my office desktop, then from my Galaxy S10 I went to the Google Play Store and downloaded the Qobuz app for my phone. I use two separate iPads at home, one for the upstairs living room system and one downstairs for the studio system. Aurender supports Qobuz with their Conductor App, so it was as simple as going to the Setup page, tapping on the Streaming tab, tap on the Qobuz button, then entering my user name and password. Like magic the Qobuz icon appeared in the Conductor App and I was up and running. Qobuz is perfectly integrated into the Conductor App and everything is working smooth as silk.

I have been listening to all sorts of new releases today, and I am pleased to report the sound is excellent. Right now I am enjoying Giovanni Guidi - Avec Le Temps, a 24Bit/88.2KHz recording on the ECM label. The sound is remarkably clean, rich, airy, and resolving. I plan to do plenty of listening between now and the time my free trial period ends, but at this point I am already very satisfied with the quality of streaming in high-res FLAC format. This streaming service just may be a keeper.

I've been loving Qobuz lately. I think the sound quality is as good or sometimes better than Tidal. I seem to find different music on Qobuz as compared to Tidal. I'm not sure why. It's great to have choices.

Joe.......I've been listening to Qobuz on the living room system for just over 9 hours. I'm still listening and have to say I am impressed with the sound quality. I have been all over the place, jazz, classical, rock, country, R&B. So far so good.

Enjoy Dan, I've been on Qobuz for a while. I do know they are still adding to their catalogs so some patient is required as they grow.

Chris.......I don't notice what is absent because I don't search for specific titles. I just browse what is available and listen. What I am discovering is the sound quality of the high-res streaming is excellent. I also appreciate how well Aurender has integrated Qobuz into their Conductor App. It is seamless.

What I do to discover new music is to listen to what others have recommended as well as whats new in the genres I enjoy.

Dan, I also like their hi-res catalogue very agreeable.

    Re: Qobuz now playing

I have both Qobuz and Tidal on my phone and computer. Would like to have both on my HT system, at least until I purchase a new 2 channel high end audio system for music listening next year. I just purchased a used Google Chromecast to (hopefully) allow me to stream over my LG smart TV web browser, so I can stream Qobuz and Tidal over my HT system. The Chromecast is due to arrive late this month. I hope it works. Didn't pay much for it so it won't be a big monetary loss if it doesn't work.

    Re: Qobuz now playing

Has anyone searched their catalog recently, improved since their US release? I'm thinking of switching as they offer normal hi-res rather than Tidal's MQA.

for the titles i traffic in, the library has increased significantly in the two months since the public beta release... and, the number of albums with hi-res versions is also much larger. so much so that i have re-subscribed.

More options coming soon... Amazon will be announcing a better than CD Quality Streaming service priced around $15/Mo. And it is possible that Apple will offer higher than CD Quality Streaming at some point.

Might need to give Qobuz a try. I hadn’t heard about Amazon. I heard SiriusXM might be adding a higher res too, since the pandora purchase/merge.
