Audio Research Ref 3 set display off/on

Should ARC Ref-3 save display settings?
I set display off, then turn amplifier off, then on and display is on too.

    Is it correct?
Every time amplifier is on display should be adjusted?

Re: Audio Research Ref 3 set display off/on

I believe that is the way my Ref 3 operated also. I stopped turning the display off after the normal shutdown process recommended by ARC.

Turn the volume to 0 and mute the Ref 3. Walk over and turn off my amps. Return to the Pre and turn it off.

With no display glowing at me I ended up leaving the Ref 3 on until the middle of the next day. Not the end of the world but a safe habit to develop.

You probably have a better memory than I do though.

My Ref-3 produces audible bzzzzz noise when display is on.
In any way bad design, I can have many reasons to switch display off.

My previous pre Cary Audio SLP 03 remembered display settings.

Is your display dead quiet? Do you hear any noise near the display?

If you hear noise caused by the display in the Ref 3, something is amiss. That's not normal.
