It is breaking in nicely. I am very impressed with the additional weight I seem to hear from all of my music.

Sure looks pretty Jim!
Your thoughts on the sound align with my impressions last week. It will get even better. More weight and more natural presentation; and, it was a terrific pre before the HD upgrade! To me, similar impressions I heard when I upgraded my S200 to S250.

Re: New Momentum HD Preamp
A quick question- why not put the TT on it's own stand? My gut feeling is that wooden stand is not vibration proof?
At this level of equipment there should not be any compromises.

The turntable is sitting on a HRS platform as is pre-amp. To be honest the TT isn't used enough to warrant any further expenditure.
I previously had my gear on a audio stand but did not looking at a rats nest of interconnects and power cords.

Hi Jim / Mike
would you guy's please clarify by what you mean as additional weight. the Dag amps are quite rich sounding and slightly bass weighted and now you are saying the new HD Dag pre amp adds more weight.
It sounds like the presentation might be getting a little little too weighty and slow and even affecting the mid range? - or does the original momentum pre amp have no bass weight?
as we know, Wilson speakers are full sounding as well.
cheers
Shane

The HD pre upgrade/version provides a more complete musical presentation. It is more natural and extended. It is by no means slower; actually, it is faster than the base pre. If you have ever heard the difference between the base S200 and S250 or M300 and M400 you would understand what has been my experience.
With respect to Wilsons, I have a pair of Alexias. The musical experience in my room certainly improved with the HD upgrade. My wife joined me after I installed it and was so taken we were spinning vinyl for a few hours.
Hope that helps!
