Fyi: Qnap hs-453dx
A local audio forum raves about the new QNAP fanless NAS HS-453DX:
https://www.qnap.com/en/product/hs-453dx
This is not an endorsement, and we do not have it for testing. This is just an FYI. An audio review site from Taiwan tested MinimServer on it so I do not expect any major compatibility problem.
In addition to being fanless, which I believe is very important, it supports a hybrid HDD + SSD structure (two SATA 3.5-inch drive bays and two M.2 2280 SATA SSD slots), and dual network ports (one is 10Gb, the other is a Gigabit Ethernet).
*It* looks quite pretty (photo stolen from another forum):

Re: Fyi: Qnap hs-453dx
Provided it's compatible with the size of SSD I'd like to install, I'd like to try one of these with my Lumin A1.

Re: Fyi: Qnap hs-453dx
looks like it takes all storage disk form factors except the 1.8" size... 2 drives that take 3.5" HDD, 2.5" HDD or 2.5" SSD. it also has 2 internal S.2 SSD slots for caching [not sure if these drives can also be used for storage].
fanless - and paired with your choice of LPS - it should also be very quiet.viking acoustics berlin r mk2 | almarro a318b + air tight atc-5 (phono) | clearaudio concept + virtuoso v2 MM | t+a dac8 dsd + diy transport + roon rock

I believe yes.

Beware that the original power supply is 12V 7.5A. I see one dealer (no relation to Lumin) suggesting the $925 UpTone JS-2 LPS for it.
Another company is also modifying the NAS with a TCXO / OCXO.Peter Lie

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
