If I were to setup a new system:
All the RCA interconnects would be Blue Jeans Cable LC-1.
The XLR interconnects would use Belden cable and Neutrik connectors.

I think it"s great that you have found satisfaction in your choice of cables.
However, cables are one of those "personal choice" issues where it is rare to find two or more that agree on "what's best".
Kind of like Tubes or solid state, Republican/Democrat, Protestant/Catholic, etc etc.
Plus many of us find cables are also very system dependent.
I'm glad you enjoy what you have but I don't think you will convince many others to share in your views.

Well not all cables are as good as those listed, so A/B differences are possible.

Most of the cables in my systems are OBE (Overtaken By Events).
Mostly DIY with various Belden cables.
Most of the RCA's are short custom lengths.
Not what I would chose for a new system.
But the important cable is an eight channel XLR snake.

I think that is likely the case. And as stated earlier, also personal preferences are like to yield varying outcomes.

Re: Cables? What Brand/Model do you use?

Greetings all, long time reader of this forum just recently decided to add my two cents to threads....

i have invested in a complete loom of Wireworld Platinum cables
    -Platinum Starlight 7 USB
    -Platinum Starlight AES
    -Platinum eclipse interconnects (RCA)
    -6 Platinum Electra power cords

speaker cables are Analysis plus Silver Apex

i really like the “no house sound” of Wireworld’s cables... I can recognize changes in the system immediately ( for better or worse) and resolution is certainly top tier by anyone’s standards. I feel like the cable search is no longer a part of my lexicon .

i will say this..... not cheap

FRO, That is a very good -looking cable. I notice P.A.D. uses Furutech NCF connectors. A pair at full retail is about $750. They have an Anniversary Edition power cable priced at $15,000. What could POSSIBLY be worth $14,250 in that 1.5 meter of cord??!!
T+A MP3100HV, T+A PA3100HV. Custom made Furutech cables with ETP-609 distributor with NCF outlets, Harbeth 40.2 Anniversaries.

FYI... According to their website it's all copper, PCCC with 9AWG per leg. At this price level in cables you're not paying for raw materials used, but rather for the sound quality and time spent in research and design to achieve it.

I use DH Labs cables and IC's exclusively. When I bought them 15+ years ago the prices were quite reasonable to me at the time.
    Speaker cables: 4 x 3' lengths of Q-10 Signature
IC's: most are 3' lengths of Air Matrix w/1 x 20' pair of BL-1 with XLR connectors.
2Ch: Sumiko Blackbird, Rega RB300 (modified), VPI HW-19 (modified), ARC SP-9MKIII, DBX 223SX, Dyna MKIII (radically modified), Magnepan 1.7, Dual 12" DIY TL subs, 2 bridged Crown XLS-402's, 14" HP laptop/2GB USB HDD, Emotiva XDA-2

My most amazing results are from the 47 Labs speaker wire, relatively inexpensive and the most “bang for the buck” I have experienced. Thank you for looking!

I had a change with my digital cables (surprise, surprise): I picked up the The Morrow Audio DIG3 Digital Cable with the Pure Harmony RCA’s (single cable). So far it’s pretty nice, and expect it to be even sweeter with more break-in forthcoming. I sold both USB Cables(Wireworld Starlight Platinum 7 USB, Black Cat Silverstar USB), for non-use, going strictly via CD transport...I had to try the USB deal...

It's currently on sale from the manufacturer at 35% off the $50K retail... now $32,500 plus shipping. Looks quite impressive, will be interested in your thoughts once its connected and run-in. Good listening!

a product where he can just do what he knows (topmodel), or where he has to design the best out of wordls with another complication of limited price.

To a big extend cable cost because people pay and it took its evolution....others jump in to make cash.....and basicly these days as a topmanufactor you really do well to have at least the topline to be insane in price to get attention.
not saying cables doesnt matter at all.
however, me as the new nr1 designer, the price for every single cable in my topline would go beyond 100k, exception is the speaker cable for just around 80k as a surprise. and to display my deeper understanding of the whole.

Nice to see they use Furutech products. Hard to imagine the $32,500 (on sale NOW!) couldn't be better spent elsewhere in the system? Lastly, what about the MILES of horrible cable that leads to hour homes???

Your amps and gear don't see those miles of cables leading to your home. They do see that 6' inn front of your gear.

that would be a neat trick. no more bills from the power company.

but what actually counts is from that big transformer down the street to your equipment.

the last 6 feet might act as an interference antenna thou.

    Nice cars fellas/gals!

Anyway, I’ll bite. Going to try out some DNM cables in my humble system. Demoing some SilverLine Conductor SCs at the moment which aren’t too bad.

Hmm....not so sure that’s true , I think it might be safer to say we just have less control over that.
I am certainly a power cord advocate, I have (for an example) three different cords here for my Gamut amp. The one that seems to jive is the Wireworld Platinum . But two things here , we are talking about differences here and it sounds preferable to me ( better is likely another thread) and you would have to be well intimated to the system to hear because these are improvements on small incremental magnitudes.

So , I have always visualized that a power cord is just part of the component. So you find one that works well and doesnÂ’t change the sound of the component .

Now, just spitballing here , what if one were to have the manufacturer build you a 40’ length of the chosen cord and you bolted the one end right into the breaker ( highly illegal but for example) ... safe to say now that you would improve the sound again because your component is literally now attached to the breaker

Point being , that’s why we have 20 gauge dedicated ground 20 amp circuits brought to our listening rooms .... because it improves the sound . If the amp didn’t “see” that why would we do it. Beyond that measure we don’t have much control on what the incoming power is doing.

The best setups have balanced power sub panels that the outlets for the audio gear are wired into . The massive transformers in these things certainly mitigate issues with power but make no mistake your equipment is Seeing this . It is really a question of how far your finances and listening room practicalities will allow you to jump down a very deep rabbit hole.

Just as a side, my wife is a principle figure at one of if not the most advanced cancer clinic in Canada and on the radiation side (her specialty) one of the most advanced in the world. I have been through these bunkers many times and the electronics used to run these multi million dollar linear accelerators is quite something to see.
Obviously these control rooms have some cutting edge sophisticated electronics but what is particularly interesting is each bunker has a massive balanced power sub panel that all these electronics are wired back to .

I talked not that long ago to one of the service techs from Varion (manufacture of the radiation equipment) When I was in there picking my wife up from work . This guy and a German fella from Siemens were updated some of the electronics to one of the bunkers. I asked about the power and confirmed that this is in fact completely balanced.
The Tech mentioned that this was the only way they can control the noise down to the point acceptable for these delicate and sophisticated electronics to do there job as designed and with long term reliability.
Of particular interest to me was the shielded black cables running to the equipment . They look like cab cable you would see on a tractor trailer type hook up, similar in size and look at any rate. Anyway, it turns out these are custom made for the application ( presumable not just this application) as Power cord and they are a triple shielded 10 gauge silver plated copper affair with a very particular wind to further reject noise.

So long story long... there is some science here, most of which is well above my pay grade but I certainly have come to the conclusion that our equipment will see whatever is in front of it , itÂ’s just not readily controllable.

That statement is the real truth that some people don't seem to understand. Cables are the audio equivalent of spices for food. People elect to use different spices in their food to suit their taste and cables are no different.
