Don't think I've seen Joss Stone mentioned... Tidal subscribers should check out "People Get Ready" on Jeff Beck Live at Ronnie Scott's, volume 2 track 1.

    Re: Female Singers

I do not believe Amy Lee has been mentioned. One of the most powerful and dramatic female voices I have heard. Check out her latest, Evanences Sythesis. She took many of their (her) songs from their original albums and redid them with orchestration synthesized in. What a voice.

OMG... I just remembered Annie Lennox.... Their first album was not as successful until the realized to put her voice front and center... and then, very nice!

    Re: Female Singers

What - no Sarah McLachlan or Tracie Chapman- I am surprised

    In no particular order
    Sade
    Beth Hart
    Eva Cassidy
    Katie Melua
    Ricki Lee Jones
    KD Lang
    Karen Carpenter
    Ann & Nancy Wilson
    Janis Ian
    Janis Joplin
    Tina Arena

Would love to see the Wilson sisters in concert - with Beth Hart on the same bill.

I saw Heart a couple years ago and was impressed by their vocals still very good. Some artists need to know when to quit.

Any Jacintha fans among us? I really enjoy listening to her voice and the albums are typically very well recorded.

Try Jane Monheit on Tidal if you haven't heard her yet. She is a talented jazz vocalist.

    Re: Female Singers

I have bought all of my Jacintha albums on either DSD downloads or SACD! Great recordings, fantastic voice. One of the wonderful Singapore vocalists. Her, Susan Wong, and Vanessa Fernandez. I love all three performers. Especially each of their new albums!!!
