Re: The Sharks Best Products of 2018

From products I've been exposed to in 2018. I suppose those magazines do the same, pull from what they've reviewed only.

Amps, easy, the ARC 160M's. ( I can't remember when an amp knocked my socks off like that. Highly recommended listen if you have the budget.)

The PS Audio BHK pre & power combo.

    The Carver 350's.

"super" or "all-in-one" integrated the Hegel 590. That's my new benchmark. I should add, in that $10k +/- range.

Speakers in the $10k range, Magico A3 and the new Dynaudio Contour.

In budget gear, Schiit. The Gungner DAC (probably out before 2018 though)

At the moment nothing stands out for 2018 to fill any other categories.
    Aurender ACS10 w/Audioquest Diamond USB, Esoteric N05xd
    Mark Levinson #526, 534 & JBL 4367's
    Clearaudio Performance DC w/Maestro cart
Clarus Concerto & their Crimson cables

    HT: Marantz AV8003, Linn 5125, JBL SAM3ha, Revel s30,
    SVS PC13 Ultra
Transparent, Analysis Plus & Tributaries. PS Audio filtering
    Sony XBR-75X940D & BDP
    Parasound P6, MBL 8006b, Artisan speakers/subwoofer

I forgot about the Gobel. They were impressive, although carry a large price tag. At least if I had the budget, Gobel would be on my list, unlike a couple of other high dollar speakers I could mention.

I was the first one to have a pair of Gobel Aeon Fine and agree, very expensive, but amazing speaker and worthwhile nominee. I have had Avalon, Wilson, Magico and NOLA including the venerable Nola CGR, Harry Pearson's favorite speaker of all time and can say I have never enjoyed a speaker more than the Gobel (especially now after all is set up, with the CH M1-->M1.1 upgrade).

My list would be limited to products released in 2018 and hence can't include the MSB Select II.

    My list:
CH M1 --->M1.1 upgrade, one of the best deals (of course after spending a small fortune).
Gobel Aeon (just introduced this year even though previous non-Aeon "looks" the same)
MSB Renderer II-another amazing "deal" assuming you invested your lungs in the DAC to accept the renderer
