Melos vacuum tube CD player in need of tubes
Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any contact information for Mark Porzilli? I have a tube CD player that he built and need to find out which tubes it takes? Or if anyone on here is familiar with Melos tube gear!

Re: Melos vacuum tube CD player in need of tubes
Shadowfax,
My unit is quite a bit older than the one in your link. My unit is 2 pieces one being the transport and the other being a tube D/A converter. And mine is a CD only. I believe it was built around 1988 or so. Are those the same people from the original company on Facebook? I know they have tried to bring the company back a few times in the last 30 or so years.

Re: Melos vacuum tube CD player in need of tubes
Ok thank you! I would love to put some pictures up this has to be an early piece in Melos 20 year span. The serial number is a sticker and the circuit boards looked to be hand etched and no silk screening or labeling of the components for a schematic diagram. And I found a date of Sept 1987 on the transport.

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
