    Emt tsd15 n

Does anyone have any experience with the EMT TSD15 N cartridge? I decided to upgrade my Prime to the Rosewood Prime Signature. I am a sucker for real wood. I have committed to my dealer on this cartridge instead of my Hana SL. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

Do you have the MC phono stage or SUT to support the EMT?......all three of my EMT cartridges have 1mV outputs vs Hana's 0.5mV output. If your running MC phono stage you'll want its gain in the low 50's if you don't have the phono stage to support that then going SUT route is another option.

Jeff thanks for the reply. I have a LKV Phono 2SB with 40/50/59dB gain options. I am hoping I can find one to work with the odd 1mV output. Think this will work? I also run my tables balanced from cartridge to pre.

Your 50dB setting should be good, the 59dB will most likely push on the cartridge a bit too hard. I have several MC phono stages with a variety of gain options in the 48-56 and find 50-52 is good.

Good experience with them, I have the JSD6 stereo, TSD 75th anny. mono in the 15 & 25 versions.....I find there overall character to lean slightly to the warm, bottom end will not hit that lowest octave but still plenty and very musical. I find its strengths are from the mids to the top, never finding myself worn out from too much there......
