    Swapping a Soulution 560 for a 520

I'm interested in swapping my wonderful Soulution 560 DAC for the 520 Pre. I've freshly acquired the 541 which does exactly what the 560 does and more and thus it makes no sense to keep both.

So..... I'll try & help with a really descriptive & precise point of decision here! Ok. What you ask is quite simply physics. Basically what you are really asking about is isolation & power... The 560 is a special dac, "bar none", I have compared it to some serious contenders to the industries big hitters in the dac world, guess what?, I still own it. Can it be bettered with a preamp in front of it, definitely. Separates will always shine above all as long as the quality of succession is followed in the component chain. By this I mean there must be a place in your system for the replacement component. My guess is if you had a 541 with a 520, only guessing that the rest of your system is up there somewhere in the top stratosphere of price & quality, your sound with the 520 will open up, you will hear micro & really feel the impact of a bass heavy passage a touch more, but, you will also gain a world class phono if you are into vinyl too..... It's a win win for the guy that buys the 560 too....

    Hi Sharkmouth,

Have you compared the 560 functioning as a preamp with LEEDH processing that is directly connected to your power amp vs having the 560 as a standalone DAC and inserting a proper preamp ( possibly the 520) into chain? I understand that you sent your 560 for an LEEDH upgrade .

    Re: Swapping a Soulution 560 for a 520

I bought my first soulution 541 SACD/DAC with LAN Streamer in 2014.

I was so happy with it that I bought a another 541 for a second residence at a later date with the same configuration. The second one came an upgraded 560 DAC board. I compared the sound between the two 541's and three other top flight DAC's.

So at the end of the day I sent back my first 541 to soulution for the 560 DAC board upgrade. Great versatility with every digital input conceivable. Really enjoy the Ethernet/LAN input.

Great synergy with other soulution products!
