Horn freak from Antalya, Turkey!
Hello,
I am an audio lover from the sunny coast of Antalya. I am a musician (drummer and trying to learn to play the piano) and used to record stuff, now both are hobbies for me, but still have my recording studio stuff like mixing desk, monitors, the hardware etc. I have studied interior design and worked on acoustics at school as well. Now I am a hotel manager! a little far from what I have done but its life...
I generally listen to vinyl records and have around 2000 titles. I still keep my cd's as well which are about 1500 titles. I am a music freak and I listen to a lot of different genres. I listen to music at least for a few hours every night. I don't have a TV since 97. I mostly listen to Jazz from 50s to 70s then blues music then classical music, electronic music, rock music, world music...
I have built my own horn speaker system which took around 2 years from planning to adjusting. I had several speaker systems before both horns and direct radiators. Horn system uses fostex t500amkII tweeters, berylium compression drivers, modified supravox midbass driver in relevant horns. TAD 1601b bass drivers in br boxes. I have a passive crossover which is quite complicated but very transparent, thanks to the German engineers who helped me with that. They are behind a lot of big horn companies and I couldn't have done it without them. My system is +-5db from 18hz to 20.000hz in room. I prefer having the response tilted towards bass. I attached a photo of the horn system along my audio rack. The sub octave is filled by the full size tapped horn I have built (can not be seen in the photos).
I use a full Kuzma analog front end consisting of Kuzma Stabi M turntable, a Kuzma 4 point arm and a Kuzma Car40 cartridge. I have a Transrotor 8.2mc sym phono pre. Incredibly accurate and not well known pre with balanced inputs.
I have an oppo 105d to take care of all digital duties.
My amps are solid state AVM monoblocks to drive the bass reflex dual woofer boxes, and horns are driven by Line Magnetic 503pa monoblocks. I have modded them (see the line magnetic forum 503pa thread). I have custom made passive preamplifier with amtrans resistors. Just two resistors in every setting, no volume pots nothing...
phew, it was a long one!Kuzma Stabi M, Kuzma 4 Point, Kuzma Car 40, Transrotor Phono 8.2mc sym, Bryston BDA-3, Oppo 105d, Amtrans resistor based custom passive pre, line magnetic 503pa s.e.t. monoblocks (modded), AVM 3.2 s.s. monoblocks, hypex class d sub amp, diy horn based 6 way speakers

Re: Horn freak from Antalya, Turkey!
Very beautiful system especially the custom made horns are fantastic! Have been to Turkey twice including Kusadasi, Bodrum and Fethiye, but never made it to historic Antalya and the eastern Turquoise Coast. Wonderful country and people -- hope to return.

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
