Re: Rocky Mountain Music Festival coming soon
I talked to EJ today. He said it was up and running and playing away in the shop right now. I want him to sneak it into the sound room and play it through the KEF Ref 3's. I mean, it has to be broken in before Denver, right?

The statement nextGEN has been playing flawlessly in the shop since last Friday, looking very good for Denver.
Now if we can get EJ to fabricate the new logo to put on the case (maybe today).
Another announcement that you might want to hear about. The new Phono-Stage with external power supply should also be ready for RMAF!!!

Re: Rocky Mountain Music Festival coming soon
So I was talking to EJ yesterday. He is trying to make his newly designed/invented Class D something out of this world. Even though the amplifier has been playing flawlessly and sounding amazing he felt there was something he could fine tune even more. So he redesigned a section on the main amplifier boards, and built new boards (even though RMAF is like two weeks out). He said he is chasing the Holy Grail and felt there was one area he could improve in.
The cool thing is being that he fabricates everything in house he can actually improve a design and make it real in a matter of days. Anyway, after a couple attempts he believes he was able to implement the small improvement he was looking for. These even newer boards have been playing away in the shop for a couple days now.
He was telling me that when he took the amp off line out in the shop to put the new boards in the case bottom (he has only manufactured one so far) the guys were asking why the test system was not sounding as good ... I think this new amp is going to be something pretty special. Can't wait to listen to one in my system.
He is confident that the latest iteration will be playing away in Denver!McIntosh C49, MC152, MR85, R778 | T+A DAC 8 DSD | KEF LS50 Meta w/S2, KC62 (x2) | Rega RP8, Ania Pro, NEO PSU | Technics SL-1500C | Audio Technica VM750ML | Hexmat Eclipse, Yellow Bird, Molekula, Molekula Mini | Pro-Ject VC-E | Falcon NW PC Server (Roon Core & HQPlayer) | Microsoft Surface Pro 6 (Roon Controller) | Wyred 4 Sound ISO Recovery, DC Recovery | Abyss Diana Phi | Schiit Jotunheim 2 | Astell&Kern SE200 | Oppo BDP105

Re: Rocky Mountain Music Festival coming soon
Well, yes and no. The case will be similar to the previously shown statement prototype, but also have our Wyred look and feel. Again, we emphasis what's inside, but being that we fabricate the entire statement nextGEN case here we can add some "flare"...

Re: Rocky Mountain Music Festival coming soon
I got a couple quick photos of the new amp playing away in the shop. These were really quick snap shots taken as the folks were leaving the shop for the weekend. So, not the best shots, but you can get an idea. I know that three colors are going to be offered; copper, silver, and bronze. As per request, this is an AS exclusive first look in the forums...
I got a sneak look at a silver one being packed up to go to the show. I really like the silver one... wow... I was told that the copper one was gonna burn in some more over the weekend before being sent over night to Denver. It is slated to be the amp being played!
Yes that is a stage 2 being prepared for Denver also. I wanted to grab them both and take them home ...

I do know this will be less and a higher model with the display is planned. This is a revolutionary new Class D, completely designed by EJ. Also the prototype shown 2 years ago won awards in Denver.

Sounds good Randy. The $5k price was for the version with the display. After the show time to get one in the mail to Srajen. He has the Stage 2 on hand to run it with along with multiple Pass and First Watt models as well as the Nord SE amp for comparison.

Re: Rocky Mountain Music Festival coming soon
Randy a few post back, W4S made this statement about this amp "" Brand new amplifier technology, design by EJ (no ICE, no NCore) ! 250 wpc and bridgeable to 750 watts... The plans are for a 750wpc unit with LED display and controls to follow, statement nextGEN X."" So what kind of class D is it, I wonder if its eGaN FET-based Class D amplifiers

Re: Rocky Mountain Music Festival coming soon
Hey Chris... I do not know that answer, but I know EJ has been designing his own Class D for about five years. He did give a look see on an early alpha prototype at 2015 RMAF. It won Best of Show. This is a vastly updated version... all fabricated in house here in California. I want a Silver one... looks like stainless Steel! He told me this bad boy stores more energy than the amazing Ampzilla 2000 2nd edition.

Re: Rocky Mountain Music Festival coming soon
Looking forward to a shoot out with that amp collection. Usually has many different speaker types on hand too. Randy I assume on all of the colors the black framework stays the same and only the center piece is changed out like on other models.
Maybe he will let you take the amp and preamp home for a couple of days after the show.Main - JVC QL-Y7/Denon DL-301 Mk II, Gold Note PH-10, Jays CDT3 Mk3 , Auralic Aries G2.2, Holo May KTE, Supratek Cabernet, Kinki Studio EX-B7 monoblocks, Verity Audio Otello, (2) Rythmik F12SE, Audio Envy IC, SC & PC's, Triode Wire Lab PC's, Inakustik USB and I2S, (2) Puritan Audio Labs PSM-156 with Groundmaster City, Timbernation rack

Re: Rocky Mountain Music Festival coming soon
Yes, it is the center section... the silver/stainless steel looked really hot to me! The copper is eye catching, but many of the W4S staff agreed with me and liked the silver, a lot! The bronze is the color that the little prototype headphone amp was shown in at the 2015 RMAF.
By the way, the copper is incredible when used with the KEF Black speakers with the copper drivers. Sitting next to EJ's Reference 3's with the copper drivers it is stunning.McIntosh C49, MC152, MR85, R778 | T+A DAC 8 DSD | KEF LS50 Meta w/S2, KC62 (x2) | Rega RP8, Ania Pro, NEO PSU | Technics SL-1500C | Audio Technica VM750ML | Hexmat Eclipse, Yellow Bird, Molekula, Molekula Mini | Pro-Ject VC-E | Falcon NW PC Server (Roon Core & HQPlayer) | Microsoft Surface Pro 6 (Roon Controller) | Wyred 4 Sound ISO Recovery, DC Recovery | Abyss Diana Phi | Schiit Jotunheim 2 | Astell&Kern SE200 | Oppo BDP105

Re: Rocky Mountain Music Festival coming soon
Well the RMAF was very busy and we feel successful. A lot of interest in the new statement nextGEN amplifier!
There was also a ton of interest in the new MS Music Server and of course many people were excited to see our new PH-1 phono stage.
We are going to do our best to get these three new items into production as fast as we can!
