Not vinegar but certainly very, very, very far from Special Select ime.

When looking at the bottles posted in this thread, I'm more than willing to give Kingsrule the benefit of the doubt.

The only bottles with which I am concerned are those that are laid down - just want to check on them as they age. If they are affected by the Coravin, I'm out.

Everyday drinkers can be vacuum sealed and put back in the cellar. They may or may not last an extra day but don't really care about the Coravin for those.

Yes, enjoyed it much but suggest finishing the bottle once opened. It did not hold up well vacuumed and refrigerated. So for me, it isn't a mid-week drinker, as between my wife & I we seldom put away a bottle on a week night unless entertaining.

Last night was a 1998 La Spinetta Gallina Barbaresco. The aromatics jump out of the glass! The 98's are really starting to come into their drinking window. Bricking at the rim still with a strong core of fruit. Got much better over the hour and a half it took to drink. I had to put it down or it wouldn't have made it that long. Tasty juice.

Dunham Cellars 2007 Lewis Vineyard Syrah, Columbia Valley, been in my cellar for 8 years, absolutely stunning! My cab of the same vintage maybe a little beyond prime, but this is perfect right now.

    That's a beauty Bob!

Only had a few Dunhams, but my modest cellar is filled with Washington wines, mostly from Red Mountain.

Re: What wine are you enjoying tonight?

If you're still drinking tonight, God bless you. For Christmas dinner we had a glazed ham my wife ordered from Kentucky. There were only 5 of us (3 drinking) and the wines we had are now, only a distant memory, although the food coma lingers.

Billecart-Salmon Rose NV - This house is well known for their rose champagnes, but the NV bottlings in recent years have been more variable than the late 90s when they all were unfailingly terrific and the house was less well known.
2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Domaine Castagnier - This is an epic year for Burgundy and this wine was so intense, I should have waited another 5 years to try it.
