Wow, Normal Lab speakers, a blast from my past. I can't help you with the drivers but I am very familiar with the speakers. I went to college in Oklahoma in the 1970's and NL speakers were popular there (with them being made in Norman OK) and sounded great. I always wanted a pair to replace my Altec Lansing Model 3's, but I was a poor college student back then.

I had a set. They had a ton of bass if I remember correctly. Wasn't the woofers like a coated type of surrounds?
