    Re: NEW - Shunyata Omega

Ok, these cables are the real deal. On day three, these Shunyata Omega’s are fuller sounding, deeper and better bass, more musical.

The top end is beautifully extended and the bass, the bass, oh baby, the bass. These just seem to dig more bass detail out of the music.

They are definitely top top top tier. And damn, the NR REALLY works.

Assuming this cable is intended to connect a power amplifier directly to the wall socket. For about the same money, why wouldn't you just buy a Typhon QR and Sigma EF for that purpose?

I have a Denali 2000 on each of my amps. The problem with the Denali, or a Typhon QR, is each Denali requires 2 power cords. One from the wall to the Denali, and one from the Denali to the amp. These new power cords eliminate the need for the Denali, or Typhon, and one power cord. If the end result is the same, or better, sound then the reduced gear clutter makes it worth the price.

How much of the QR/BB tech is in the Omega? Is it actually more or better than what's in the Denali 2000?

If you are asking me, I have no idea. Just commenting on what the Omega would replace in my system.

$9,000 for a power cord.. absolute madness. What are we thinking? The law of diminishing marginal utility...... They sure do look cool though! Lastly, what about the countless miles of horrible cable that comes into the house??

Has anyone else had a chance to try these? We are using several and feel they are broken in now. Quite a cable. As one client said who demoed them, “they are complete sounding”. I like the detail these are providing.

    Anyone else try them yet?

    Re: NEW - Shunyata Omega

Not yet. On one hand, I would like to try them on my amps since they would replace two Denali 2000 and four power cords. I believe that cost more than the two Omega power cords. On the other hand any sound improvement, more than likely, will be minor at best. Then again they would clean up the appearance of the amp power.

I just picked up another Sigma NR and I’m in the process of auditioning new speaker cables for the MBLs. I will have to stay away from “Crackville”

    Re: NEW - Shunyata Omega

We will be demoing the incredible Omega’s at the Florida Audio Expo. We have ours fully broken in and they rise to the level of a component change difference in a system. The silver adds more detail, but never gets harsh. The noise floor is non-existent. The sound staging is bigger. The micro detail retrieval is off the charts and what I noticed almost immediately and it’s only been enhanced with break in is the bass definition.

Also, Grant from Shunyata will be in the Suncoast Audio Fyne/Pass/Shunyata room at the Florida Audio Expo next week (on the 12th floor) showing off some new goodies from Shunyata that you don’t want to miss! What’s in his bag of tricks you ask? Come and check it out!

Take a trip over to the US and pick them all up in person. Fly home with two luggage bags full of goods. Hell, strap some Omega cords around your waist if not enough room...

What do you hear or not hear with the NR. Look, I'm able to afford Venom. I want new cords for my DAC and Server. Not sure why I would want NR. I sent my server for a major software change. In doing as such I completely unplugged all my digital equipment. My phono player is the only equipment tied in. I heard no change in noise, dynamis, anything. I was actually pretry impressed my digital injects so little back. So then, why NR. Why not just good olll copper. We have had lots of conversations over the impact of conditioners. Many feel they can be heard and only to be used when necessary. As in, fixing bad power. A cord with a power conditioner is just that. A power conditioner. I used an Isotec Synco years ago. Same thing. A cord with a power conditioner in it. It sure as heck could be heard. It flat out sucked with my CJ Premier 140, but was great with my Rega Osiris. Point being, put a power conditioner inline when not needed and it may create issues. Orrrrre, it there something different in this filter network.

All of my power cables are Shunyata. I have a mix of Sigma NRs, Sigma HC, Sigma Digital, Alphas and Deltas NRs.

My most recent purchase was a Sigma NR to replace the Anaconda that was powering the D’Agostino Momentum HD preamp. The Sigma NR is superior to the excellent Anaconda - at least to my ears. I find it to be much quieter. Stage feels wider and with better control of the lower frequencies. It is connected to a Shunyata Triton V3 which is being powered by a Sigma HC power cable and a dedicated 20A circuit.

I will try the Omega but the likelihood that I’ll spend $9K for a power cord is slim to none.

I know it's a little off topic but what is the uptick from venom to Delta. It seems to have a better cord connector. Is it a noticeable heard improvement?

Because a Typhon QR has no receptacles?

The Delta NR is better than the Venom NR. More dynamic, more slam and better imaging. Better bass, too.

With respect to your comment about power conditioners, all I can say is my Triton V1 8 years ago was a major improvement over what I had the time (a Shunyata Hydra 8), and the Denali 6000/S V2 is light-years past that. Shunyata's power conditioners are not like power conditioners from any other company. For one thing, they do not utilize chokes, coils or inductors. They can also provide, depending on the model, >40 to >60 dB of noise reduction without (and this is the key point), without impacting dynamic transient current delivery. The Denali series also has independent isolation outlet-to-outlet, so each component's power supply is isolated independently from another component's power supply. This is a key feature because it prevents noise from each components internal power supply coming back out of the component to pollute the rest of the devices in the power distribution chain.

I have both. Delta is noticeably better.

Sorry but not quite correct; It has one and you can plug an amp power cord directly into it.

    I have a friend in MD who has 3 TYPHON QR amazingly enough;

1 Typhon QR to power his Triton V3
2 Typhon QR, 1 for each of his uber tube monoblocks

he is extremely happy as you can well imagine.

I have one Typhon QR driving my Triton V3. I cannot imagine owning 2 or 3 but what a way to go!

The OMEGA QR power cord for direct-wall connection 1-to-1 for an amp or other component is a great way to save space, spend the same and get

Cool, thanks, Mark. I thought the port on the back of the Typhon only worked for connecting an umbilical to a power distributor.
