original tube complement for Cortese I F2a ( 2005 )
Dear community,
thank you to be a part of it here.
I am relatively new to the Shindo brand and own an old Minbrison and new to me a Cortese F2a. At he end, there are playing some Lockwood Major fitted with Tannoy MG 15".
I bought the cortese with some tubes they are not the original equipement. Does anybody know, apart from the Siemens F2a, which tubes should be fitted originally ?
Thanks in advance,
Rüdiger

My Cortese has the original equipment Siemens F2a as it was purchased new from an authorized dealer. I believe they are the only tubes used for original equipment. Almost impossible to find in the aftermarket.

Dale, thank you. I wanted to know about the other 4 Tubes. One is the rectifier, two in the front at the right side, the driving tubes and one in the middle, in front of the rectifier. I have no info what was the original setting with it.
Regards, Rüdiger

The other 4 are Phillips 6AW8A.

New Cortese employs two ECL82 input and driver tubes instead of 6AW8A. And 5U4G rectifier.

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
