    Re: MSB new pricing model

$24.5k - Premier (clock 93 and power base now standard)

$49.5k - Reference (clock 33 and preamp now standard)

I believe the renderer still is a $2k option for all dacs. There are no changes to...

Sad with the computer tray making it even worse. Especially after the sweet looking baby headphone amp release

Re: Magico M2 SP review and Measurements

It's not about clipping for me, but ease and freedom from the speaker at normal levels. Less congested events on complex music like classical, electronica, etc. Piano hammers and bass that has...

Re: Magico M2 SP review and Measurements

I don't think this is what JA is saying. He equivocates 2.83v into 8 ohms - so a true 86db vs. 88db spec. He just states that Magico says it's a 4ohm impedance.

That said, based on my slightly...

    Re: Fyne Audio F1-10

Heard the F1/Essence combo at Mike's recently and it was pretty special indeed! Congrats
  8. Re: Wilson Audio and Soulution amplification - a match in heaven or a pairing from hell?

Steep price increase from what Iíve heard.
  9. Re: Wilson Audio and Soulution amplification - a match in heaven or a pairing from hell?

Wilson/ARC is a pretty classic pairing. While Marty likes his Wilson/Soulution pairing, note his sources which are quite a bit different tonally. Atypical combo if you ask me.

    Vandy with...

Re: Could it be I don't care for Class A

The huge X350.8 ran just to the point of being uncomfortably warm in my LA-based living room. It is regularly 90+ degrees in the Valley summer here. YMMV.

Re: Could it be I don't care for Class A

As Nelson has written about, I think some people prefer 3rd harmonic over 2nd harmonic distortion (ie. me).

For instance, I don't prefer SET amps - I owned a half dozen of them in my Zu days and...

Re: What was your first high-end component ever?

An Odyssey Stratos way back in 2000. A Cary SLP98 and V12 soon followed.

Re: MSB Reference analog preamp questions

I preferred my Music First to the MSB Ref preamp still, although the Ref was much better than the volume control in my Analog or Premier dacs. I've heard the impedance implementation in the Select is...

    Re: Posting Prices Publicly

My Rolex/PP dealer gets 10 calls a week about the same 10 watches. It's really just an "investment" mania - I truly want to know how many sales prints of $65k Nautilus there really are - I've heard...

If Rolex and Patek Phillipe can post prices, methinks tiny audio companies can.

    Re: MSB new pricing model

+1. It means I'm done with MSB, by default. Why would I pay $5k for say the upgraded clock, that puts my total Premier cost over that of a new one. And if the "solution" is to trade in a less...

    MSB new pricing model

I've heard they are getting rid of the options and including more for less $$. Is this true?

If so, this is disappointing for existing owners as the cost to upgrade doesn't make sense vs. new...

  24. Re: Pappy Van Winkle, worlds most sought after bourbon

Iíve had the 23 yr a few times - itís very very rich tasting. Nothing remotely like it.

Also paid $30 for the 10 or 15 year at a local bar and it wasnít anywhere worth the $.
  25. Re: High end audio predictions and wish lists for 2021
