  1. Re: Nord One Up Ncore NC500 amps, Class D ready for prime time .....

I don't know yet. Not an easy A/B event, as one amp has SI994's in it (the one with the Nichicon's) and the other has Sparkos. I don't expect much difference as they are just in the power supply, but...
  2. Re: Nord One Up Ncore NC500 amps, Class D ready for prime time .....

    Hello all,

Well my Nord NC500's went kuput. Actually one went, I had it fixed, and when I got it back and put it back in the system the other one was gone! (I have 2 stereo amps using an...
  3. Re: Nord One Up Ncore NC500 amps, Class D ready for prime time .....

Yeah, I don't have any itch to get rid of mine. Sound quality aside I just leave them on 24/7 and don't have any regrets when I get the hydro bill. Ok, call me not a real audiophile for caring, but...
  4. Re: First timer !!

Wow Kenny pretty open-ended question: "what amp and cables should I get?" but if you like what you have read in this thread I would send an email to Colin at Nord and ask his suggestions as to...
  5. Re: New B&O ICE Power 1200AS2 Module @ Nord: 600W into 8Ohms 1200W into 4Ohms

I recall reading a similar post many years ago from a conductor only he was tauting his speakers. I was researching a speaker purchase and he owned Maggie 20.1's. Helped me decide to get my 3.6's: I...

    Re: MQA question

I see what you are saying; Tidal decodes the first fold "for free" and given the appropriate equipment Tidal does fully decode it . I thought others were using Tidal for their MQA. My brain inserted...

    Re: MQA question

Ah yes, I did see this link to 2L before; haven't gotten around to it yet.

Had no idea Roon didn't support MQA yet and Tidal only unfolds it once. I now don't know how people are listening to...

    Re: MQA question

I have given up comparing for now as the files are completely different, at least with the tracks I did attempt to compare. It is not like comparing a cd version with a remastered cd, or comparing...

Wow, that video from Chord seems to imply that they make the best DAC available. Shocking!:congrats:

    Re: MQA question

Check out my latest "what are you listening to tonight?" post:
You can see in my Roon signal path I am listening to a Tidal stream of a 24 bit 96Khz file, but I am only getting it unfolded to a 24...

    Re: MQA question

    Define "listen"?:

I am streaming MQA through my non-MQA DAC just fine, but I am not decoding it to the highest frequency rate that an MQA DAC does; in MQA language it is only unfolding the file...
