Re: Fiber optic Vs Cat type Ethernet cable

Depends on the nature of the device at the end. If you have an EtherREGEN at the "destination" end, then, it won't be an issue as its designed to mitigate the problems of longer runs of copper...
  3. Re: Shielded vs unshielded ethernet cable for Lumin

If using a shielded cable, the most important thing is that the shield is not connected at both ends. This is to keep high-source impedance leakage current from traveling down the shield and into the...

    Re: Rega P10

Yes, I saw this YT review about a year ago, Dave. It's excellent, and in fact, was the impetus for me to request to review a Planar 10 to review for TAS.

    Re: Rega P10

Yes, it was. My Grace Ruby was even better when Peter at Soundsmith replaced the OEM ruby cantilever and stylus with his own design ruby cantilever and stylus.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System

Mark, when you say "Keyes P8" are you referring to the "Keces" power supplies? I have a Keces P3 that supports powering two devices independently and have been meaning to try it for powering my ER.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System

    Hi Craig,
You raise some relevant points. Certainly we have chokes, coils, and inductors in our various components, notably choke filters in the power supplies of various amps, etc., and certainly,...

    Re: Rega P10

Ha! My first decent table was Rega Planar 3, too. I had an SME III on it, with a Grace F9 Ruby. Sounded wonderful back in the day.

I wouldn't draw any inferences about the Apheta 3 based on...
  10. Re: Shielded vs unshielded ethernet cable for Lumin

Supra Cat 8 is pretty good, the best of the "generic" Ethernet cables I've tried. Certainly better than Belden Cat 6a (gack!).

If you have the budget, though, Shunyata Venom Ethernet, at...

    Re: Rega P10

Yeah, the $6695 Rega P10 has given my approx. $15K Michell Gyro SE MkII/SME V/Koetsu Urushi Vermilion set-up a really hard run for the money.

Honestly, if I had to pick one, I wouldn't think...

    Re: Rega P10

Yep, Ian, I am doing this same calculation right now with my selling my Michell Gyro SE, SME V, and Koetsu Urushi Vermilion as to whether I can buy the review unit of the P10.

    Re: Rega P10

Get the Rega P8. Or, better yet, get the P10. My review of the P10 is coming out next month in TAS, I'm told.

Re: Does the site have new formatting?
