    D2 new owner in TX

In your opinion, not Michaels or many of the people who love the speaker. Not sure what your point is in making the comment. You sound as if you think your opinion is absolute; again, kinda silly.

Re: D2 new owner in TX

Very true Le Roy. In the same vein, if you dress the figure skater in football pads and cleats and put them on the ice they wont spin to well.

Re: D2 new owner in TX

I don't know the Ayres well but I see they fit in the same boat with a DF of about 60. Not where I would go.

Re: D2 new owner in TX

I could see it on the Dags for sure given their output impedance (Damping Factor < 100). (As you may recall Jock I have questioned their fit with the D3's in the past for this reason; much to your...

Re: D2 new owner in TX

Thanks Jock; you are now the second person I have heard that from. I am curious was it with the Dags or another amp and roughly what was the SPL? I just have not got my mine to do it with the 501 /...

Re: D2 new owner in TX

First Bold: Of course not. No one is implying any such thing. Are you reading the posts? The 65 hz rise is designed into the speaker due to Michael's view about flat energy perception being different...

Re: D2 new owner in TX

Pretty weird. I was talking to David regularly through this period and everything you describe is consistent with the V-1 days. However, his view of the V-II's with the Soulution, which is completely...

Re: D2 new owner in TX

Yes Mike I have followed your efforts from the get-go including your threads on WBF and other forums. I am very familiar with what you have done and not done in your room. There are several...

Re: D2 new owner in TX

Hmm...can't say I would have tried that approach. Mike for the reasons stated, I still am not convinced any of the amps you have listed in this thread or the past will do the D3's justice. Sometimes...

Re: D2 new owner in TX

I hear you Mike and not to beat a dead horse but a "very high damping factor" means different things to different people (hence my reference to an ultra-low output impedance in my question to you). I...

Re: D2 new owner in TX

I am not sure what "normal room" means. I think a tough room will give lots of speakers fits. Unfortunately many compromise the best sound because of room problems. Its a shame.

    I know you got...

Re: D2 new owner in TX

Yes this is my point too; a high impedance output amp would not match well with the Raidhos. They would both fail to control the low damping and work to reduce the flat energy output designed into...

    Re: Favorite Two Way Speakers

Holy crap living in the shadows of the Summer of love. Forget the speakers, everything was two-way then. Wish I was there!!!!!!

Re: D2 new owner in TX

A logical hypothesis but I fear you are missing a couple of issues; one an objective and one subjective, but both part of the Raidho design intent. First, you are ignoring the Q of the speakers...

    Re: I'll Never Retire...

I am 55 and have absolutely no trepidation about selling my business as soon as I bag a few more of the opportunities I see to maximize its value and then doing everything in my power to get as bored...
  16. Re: Is Audioshark the most civil audio forum out there?

Great forum. Some good, smart people. I consider myself fortunate to be a member. My only complaints are two (all completely imo of course):

    1) There is a wide crevasse between the incivility that...
  17. Re: Devialet mercilessly beats Magico into submission

Um excuse me, are you implying that anorexic people who think they are fat are not indeed fat? That sounds like bigotry. Shame on you Mark. You are not my friend anymore.

Re: Raidho Mono & Stereo Visit

I recommend taking down the delivery numbers of eight or ten local restaurants and just holing up for the week.

I am sure it must be nice to have speakers that are engineered with features that...

Thanks Jock. Nyal has designed a combination of big custom made corner Helmholtz bass traps and RPG Plates, Absorbers and Diffusors. I suspect it will indeed be worth the wait.

    Re: Regenerators vs. Conditioners

As the measurements below indicate the cleanup of common and differential mode line noise is within the margin of error of the measuring device (i.e., immeasurable). I would suspect both units do a...

I really am interested in how you come out on this topic. I have a lot of respect for Jim's work, but I wonder the degree to which this really comes down to a personal thing versus "musicality" per...
