  1. Re: Appears there’s something new coming out of Hayward soon

I thought it was something new. I’m not following Magico that closely anymore.

    Herbie Hancock/ The Prisoner.

No surprise there, Tone Poet release. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200531/aeb918a3202731e1c0d1a4cee71ccfb9.jpg

Another Tone Poet release: Lee Morgan/ The Cooker.

As great SQ as all Tone Poet releases.

Re: What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

    Great album, really like it.

Tried to get my hands on that one, but I was too late. Had to drop top dollar on a sealed Analogue Productions out-of-print re-issue.

    Re: RIP, Mr. Jimmy Cobb.

    Wow, that’s sad. Great drummer.

I’ve got plenty of records he’s featured in.

    RIP.

    Re: Favorite affordable phono stage

Randy, the Octave EQ2 costs about 2K I believe, it’s very understated, but the best I have heard anywhere in that price range.

Re: What are you listening to tonight ?

Joan Jett/ Bad Reputation. Her first album, and still the best.

The cover looks exactly how the music sounds. A slightly immature rock brat, with more attitude than anything else. Fantastic. ...

What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

This is fun. “Mystery Man” is clearly a predecessor to “Barracuda”, slightly seventized though. You can hear the tight shirts and batting pants. Barracuda has more cohones.

    Overall, I would wish...

Just binge-watched the latest season of Bosch during the lock-down. Had to listen to “Patricia”.

    Wonderful album.

Re: What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

Rob Waterman/ Duets. Nice Analogue Productions LP in the usual quality.

The music is kept simple, often acoustic. Really nice. ...
  15. Re: Taking the Taurus up a notch: Adding Lyra Etna Lambda SL

Mike, I think today’s that magic day.

I just listened to Return of Art Pepper through Tidal, and then put on the vinyl. Oh boy, the liveliness and lifelike sound is just amazing. No comparison. ...

Yet another fantastic SpeakersCorner re-issue, better than other versions out. Great clarity, bass, dimensionality and sound-staging.

It’s kind of nice to have the Stones among your background...

That’s interesting, I did not recognize Andy Warhol’s handiwork on the cover.

Re: What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

I do have one more of these: Johnny Griffin/ The Congregation.

Music Matters Jazz, 2-vinyl, 45 rpm Blue Note re-issue, remastered from original analogue tapes.

    SQ is really pristine.

What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

    [emoji23] indeed.

I used to detest the 45 rpm vinyls for this very reason. It was just so impractical with the manual belt switch on the Vpi Prime.

But now it’s almost the opposite. As the...
