    Re: MAGICO M9ís

R.e. trickle down tech, the answer is 'yes' - the Magico A5's mid-range and bass drivers have the aluminum honeycomb cores originally designed for the M9s.

    Re: Gryphon News

My comment on Luxman was not meant to imply that I expected Gryphon to cut prices when bringing their NA distribution in house - only that pricing could go either way with such a move depending on...
  5. Re: Shunyata Sigma V2 VS Synergistic Galileo SX power cords

Thank you. Your comments on SR PCs similar to my impressions of SR Level 2 ICs and SCs.
  6. Re: Shunyata Sigma V2 VS Synergistic Galileo SX power cords

    Re: Gryphon News

Remains to be seen with Gryphon (ref Mike's comment above), but it does happen, e.g., Luxman several years ago, where their top line products were reduced 25% when they brought U.S. distribution ...
  8. Re: Any Experience Wrapping Your Amp (or Speaker)?

You might want to check with the manufacturer. If the unit is still under warranty, there may be a warranty coverage issue.

    Re: pre-amp advice

Back in the 90s I owned a Proceed CDP whose volume control I used to attach my all digital CD player front end directly to my Mark Levinson No. 331 Amplifier. I was more than satisfied with the...

    Re: Gryphon News

Prior to OHN, Gryphon had withdrawn from the US market for more than 10 years (if memory serves) except for making arrangements to have US-owned units serviced. Due to their international reputation...

Re: Big Box Brand Integrated Amps

A current high end SACD player example of no ground pin in the IEC AC In socket would be the new Luxman D-10X.

Interesting. In the US, Esoteric K-01XD MRSP is 1.39X the Luxman D-10X.

    Re: Esoteric XD Series

It's taken a while to get there, but this is also where I am for PCM with my K-01XD.
  18. Re: The DeVille loudspeaker - Fleetwood Sound Co. FSC is a division of Oswalds Mill Audio OMA

IMO you will need a dedicated listening room or a very tolerant SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) prerequisite for these.

Re: Shunyata Sigma NR v2 power cord

Although I am a Hurricane/Niagara user, I agree with Puma. You are dealing with a power system here where each manufacturer's component parts are designed to complement each other, not someone...

Bernard, after playing around a bit more, I agree with you. I like M2 better now, sacrifices ultimate detail for more organic musicality - a good trade to my ears. Thank you.

    Amp PC/SC Interplay?

Interesting quote from Jay Luong (Audio Bacon), who has written more cable reviews than anyone I'm familiar with:

    Re: Esoteric XD Series

After breaking in my K-01XD and some experimentation, these settings are also my preferred. I occasionally use M3 to take the edge off some less well recorded music. The K-01XD is a fabulous piece.
  24. Re: Tidal Misleading Listeners ??? (Neil Young on why he's no longer on Tidal)

From an audiophile standpoint, I completely agree. The problem the MQA folks are really focused on is their and the record companies' revenue problems by attempting to gain control over the...
  25. Re: Tidal Misleading Listeners ??? (Neil Young on why he's no longer on Tidal)

If true, this is what a number of MQA critics were predicting (Charlie Hansen, are you watching from somewhere up there?), that those controlling the MQA licensing process would try to gain control...
