  2. Re: Acrylic Platter with or without felt pad?

I ended up getting a cork mat. Ben from U-Turn recommended it. He said that playing records directly on the acrylic platter was not an issue, but a cork mat was better at resisting static and the...

    Re: JOB 225 2-channel Power Amplifier ... update ...

I have had the Job 225 amplifier a couple times. I always felt it was a great little amp, a real bargain. When I have had it I used Rothwell's with it which seemed to help.

Re: PS Audio Direct Stream DAC

This is true, you definitely need a good solid computer to do this right. So figure in at about $2000 to get a computer that is very up to the task, M.2 storage, gold power supply, etc. Works...

Re: PS Audio Direct Stream DAC

I would also consider the T+A DACs as being better. When I bought mine I was directly considering the PS Audio and Mike directed me towards the T+A. So very happy that he did!

    Re: Why no turntable?

I am having fun relearning and playing around with vinyl. While I totally expect digital to remain my main source, I have been listening primarily to vinyl that past weeks. It is fun and sounds...

    Re: Why no turntable?

The SimAudio arrived today. Listening to a couple of albums so far. It is impressive! The manual states it needs 300 hours of break in time.

    Re: Why no turntable?

I talked with Ben at U-Turn. Although the records play just fine directly on the acrylic platter he suggests the cork mat. The main reason is that the tone arms are setup with a 1/8" mat in the...

Re: New photos of Randy's system ...

The Elac works very well with my KEF's. It does not bring attention to itself but adds some nice bottom end fullness.

I really like the controls being from my cell phone. I also like that it...

Re: New photos of Randy's system ...

Yes, the entire system is setup slightly to the right because of how the bookcase is on the back wall. My chair is directly between the speakers, where the bookcase ends, which made fine tuning a...
