    Re: just for fun

3 Phase 1000 watt amp. I would need to run an 800' power cord from my shop. That can't be too expensive :).

The flickering of the tubes would scare the crap out of me, waiting for the explosion.

They are here in Tampa. I purchased the products to make all of the panels in my listening room. Very easy to work with.

Re: What are you listening to tonight ?

Listened to this while mowing grass and weeds this morning.
I finished and came in to my music room to play it again.
I highly recommend this Shelby Lynne album.

    Re: Variable Roon Sound Quality

I would suggest trying a Small Green Computer. I'm using I9 with UltraRendu and my Synology. Roon/Qobuz combination works flawlessly. The ability to upsample was far better than I expected. I...

Funny you should ask about listening to music.

At the time you posted I was just going into my music room for the first time in 3 weeks.

I did add to my ability to listen to music in the shop...

We had family over diner a week+ ago. I had everyone spend time in the prototype chair and give thoughts on comfort. A few said the seat was a bit to high but over all everyone was fine sitting in...

Now the easy part of putting the rough cut legs in the jig patterns to cut the finished shape on the serial cutting head on the shaper.

Once the first side is done I could put a leg in each side...

Re: I guess it is a hobby now.

I had never cut this much Walnut on the bandsaw and realized how some of the sawdust is almost a powder and floats everywhere. Even with an N-95 dust mask my sinuses were not happy.

    I upgraded my...

Next draw the leg pattern on the newly milled wood and cut 1/8" larger than the finished size.

Then it is the same process.
Straighten and flatten one face then plane each piece to make them the same thickness.

Re: I guess it is a hobby now.

Next step is rough cutting the Walnut to pieces with 1-3 legs. This prevents milling a lot of unnecessary wood.
  15. Re: New Cable offering - no audiophile should be without..............

Interesting they refer to it an "Audiophile Accessory".

Seems like speaker cables are a necessity. I think of accessories as, unneeded bling that you choose to draw attention.

Nice to hear younger musicians are thinking about the quality of music.

I would be curious to know if a Pioneer receiver and stacked speakers in a plastic ball is their idea of great HIFI.

Re: I guess it is a hobby now.

As for chairs this week. I at least have a pile of walnut with 34 legs drawn on them. I can rough cut these into smaller pieces and mill them flat before a final cut to fit the jigs.

He found some really nice wheels with pads that unscrew to make it solidly attached to the floor from Castor HQ on Amazon.

The wooden frame will be altered a bit to fit the saw and base structure.

  25. Re: What do you hear different using Balanced XLR Cables?
