    Re: Vandersteen Kento Carbon

Just remember that system matching is the key. Too many folks buy a speaker and expect it to play well with their components and sometimes that's not the case. That's why you need to bring in your...

    Re: Vandersteen Kento Carbon

There is no question any of the new Vandersteenís are built to play virtually any music available. A great speaker Hass to be able to go from Broc to acid rock to hard rock to classical to jazz to...

    Re: Vandersteen Kento Carbon

I miss understood what Richard told me a few years ago about the 5's. My bad. Thanks for straightening me out. Regardless, it's much much close to the 7's. :)

    Re: Vandersteen Kento Carbon

Thanks for sharing. I got to spend a lot of time with them last weekend. They are an amazing speaker. They filled a fairly large room and weren't even close to being taxed. Richard said they...

    Re: Vandersteen Kento Carbon

Wow, a great way to put it. I simple terms, the main amp works MUCH less as it won't have to work under 100hz where it has to work it's hardest. In addition with the way Vandersteen designed the...

    Re: Vandersteen Kento Carbon

Richard would never use a Class D amp I don't believe. Yes, his dream was basically an active speaker so that he can match the speaker to the amp to maximize both. He has to be careful not to piss...

    Re: Vandersteen Kento Carbon

Thanks for the clarification. I was wrong (happens often, good ears, bad memory, lol)... From the site:

The KĒNTO Carbon represents a ground up re-thinking by Richard and Nathan Vandersteen. The...

    Re: Vandersteen Kento Carbon

The issue with Vandersteen's is that folks don't realize what's inside. Those carbon drivers are custom made and expensive to not just make, but to also match within the tolerances he uses. The...
  9. Re: AudioQuest Niagra and Storm Power Cable Review

From what I hear, you are correct in that everything gets better and better the higher up you go. Neutral as heck compared to all the other cables folks have brought to the house to hear. I own the...

    Ax5/20

I've had the amp for a couple of years now. I have always loved the detail, quickness and tone of the amp. At times I felt that I was missing some lower notes adn that it was a bit thin sounding on...

    Re: Vandersteen Kento Carbon

The speaker is MUCH closer to the 7 than my Quatro's. It's not even close. Folks will need to figure out on their own if the amp is powerful enough. I have heard the 7's in my friends room that...
  12. Re: AudioQuest Niagra and Storm Power Cable Review

Mike, you are dead on. There are a lot of reasons for Silver getting a bad rap. When silver is slowly drawn and properly produced, it will be smooth, highly detailed and have a much lower noise...
  13. Re: AudioQuest Niagra and Storm Power Cable Review

Haven't heard it, but it's confusing between the series and the pricing. I was told that the Robin Hood Silver is better than the William Tell regular. Silver is used to lower the noise floor as...

Re: Niagara 7000 vs Denali 6000T - my experience

I've never heard of anyone having a humming or grounding issue. Garth is possibly the top designer out there for power, cords and cables.
  15. Re: MBL goes into the big system. Could this mean a change?

most systems will work in smaller rooms if set up properly. That just seems to be the key. I know someone who uses some large ML's in a smaller bedroom. They take up the whole room, but sound great
  16. Re: MBL goes into the big system. Could this mean a change?

Mike, that's awesome man. I can't remember the last time I heard the MBL's. It's been AGES, lol. Heard so many great things bout them. I do love their electronics.

    Re: AQ Diamond USB

Mine kept getting a bit better all the way up to 250 (yes I journal like an idiot, lol). It was very very subtle, but even the wife heard it as it was mostly in the soundstage. My system throws a...

Re: Jean Marie Reynaud Loudspeakers ....

I met the nicest dealer in Amherst MA some years ago. He sells out of his house. He put on the best at demo . I highly enjoyed their two top speakers. I wish I could hear the new ones, but since I’m...

I do love the Diamond. I have had some of the much more exotics in and they sound different, but not necessarily better. I"m very excited about the future of AQ as the cables and cords that Garth...

    Re: Audio Research 160M

    Re: Aurender A30

I think future proof is being able to undate a product over a ten year period so you can get about 13 years or so. In digital you can do it if they are willing to do hardware updates for us.
