  1. Re: Tesla unveils stunning new Roadster as fastest car ever

Quite frankly, I'm just excited to see the immediate potential of this tech.

    Re: Reviewer Rooms

    Boogieman,

On one hand, I'm inclined to agree with the gist of your statement. It shouldn't take a decade to figure out whether or not something makes an impact. On the other hand, closing the...
  6. Re: What percentage of total system of budget are people allocating to signal cables for optimal results?

For what it may or may not be worth, my real-world experiences align with Mikes above post. There are no hard/fast rules that can be quantified on this matter.
  7. Re: What percentage of total system of budget are people allocating to signal cables for optimal results?

    I suppose it all depends...

One of the more consistent hi-fi variables at Casa Del Zero has been cables. The variable that isn't so consistent is the gear that I have in the stables. Since this...

    Re: Reviewer Rooms

It's fascinating to see the rooms that reviewers live with on a day to day basis. This tends to hold especially true when the reviewer in question has a proven degree of influence.

    That said,...

PCM. DSD. Lossless. Mp3. MQA. Vinyl. Tape.

Honestly, I've yet to encounter one format that conquers all. Or more specifically, I've yet to encounter results from one specific format that is...

Re: What's your favorite small speaker?

    Joe,

On the truly "small" side of the loudspeaker spectrum, I'd say the Harbeth P3ESR's are a safe bet. Exceptional midrange, good highs, great build-quality, and pretty good imaging to boot! ...

    Re: Let's see your ride

The transmission in my old 93' Taurus decided to call it quits a couple weeks ago. The new ride isn't nearly as blingy as the others in this thread, but it's still a lot of fun to drive around. :) ...

  15. Re: Is there solid state gear that gives the depth and 3D of tubes?

So far, my favorite SS gear is from a Serbian company called Karan Acoustic. Can't say it sounds very much like tube gear though.

If you want tube-like character from a transistor design, I'd...

Re: Focal Sopra 2 vs Wilson Sophia 3

Agreed. It's difficult to genuinely assess gear like this without a tremendous amount of first-hand experience to draw upon. That being said, I'd take a Sabrina over a Sopra.

    It's not that the...

Re: Focal Sopra 2 vs Wilson Sophia 3

I'd take the Sopra's over any metal-domed Wilson speaker. On the flip side, I'd take any soft-dome Wilson over the Sopra - ironically for the same reason that Etune states. :D
