  1. Re: Stereophile Does Follow-Up Review of Revel Salon 2

This issue KR builds a 5.1 with the studio 2's as fronts.
  2. Re: Stereophile Does Follow-Up Review of Revel Salon 2

As long as it keeps winning listening tests I don't expect them to change. They've sounded different in every system i've heard them in so I vote active. Stuff a couple ML amps inside them and call...

Re: Itís all about the bass

There's something about having 12 8" woofers, 6 per side that can take control of a room better than many others i've tried.

the playback has to be clean with an open soundstage for me pitch could be wrong but if the recording gets the size of the space right i'll probably be able to get into it.

Re: Active Speakers - would you consider?

Back on point, after deciding I wasn't jumping into the bottomless pit of component matching I bought a clean used pair of Meridian DSP8000's and the 'se' upgrade kit. With the price a known up front...

  8. Re: My search for the best speaker for my is over (for now) LOL!

I listened to the c60 with the momentum amps driving them and have to say they sounded like all anyone could expect from a pair of speakers and the grey oak, oh man! I know they're discounting the...

Re: Active Speakers - would you consider?

Having the guesswork taken out of component matching is the biggest reason i went active and it's probably the biggest reason 'hi-end audiophiles' aren't interested. No 1/2" thick face plates to...

Re: Active Speakers - would you consider?

Meridian sells Special Edition kits that have everything but the shiny rings that the newest speakers have, but they're pricey, really pricey and it took me some time ti find a dealer to sell me a...

Re: Active Speakers - would you consider?

I made an offer on an immaculate pair of dsp8k.2's and bought the se kit that has a be tweeter and new electronics. After installing 1 kit and listening to them side by side the differences aren't...

Hegel h360 list $5600. It probably should be on the list of int's to demo. Plain jane looks but really good at driving speakers

Re: Hegel H590 vs Hegel H360

My krell went in 3 times while under warranty, my B&K also several times although the last 10 years or so it's been trouble free. I'll say I've activated overload protection on every amp/int...

Re: Are subwoofers bad for music?

The last few years I was buying full range speakers and getting frustrated when my room would roll off steeply around 80 hz with a recovery down 10 db at 60 then down 40db by 25hz. Some 'Full range'...
