  1. Re: Need a little education in Class D? What's the latest (and greatest) ?

Found a used pair of the 48v Maraschinos; received them on Friday. Using them, the TDAI-3400 integrated is now employed as pre / room correction only. This is the first pair of monos for me.

    Re: Need help in Philly

Dang... I live in Philly, have a truck, and could use an extra 71 million. Oh well.
  3. Re: Need a little education in Class D? What's the latest (and greatest) ?

I think the amp I would most like to hear is the AGD Audion / Vivace. Proprietary Class D using gallium-nitride.
  4. Re: Need a little education in Class D? What's the latest (and greatest) ?

The Cherry Maraschino caught my interest a while back and was surprised to find the company is in Allentown PA, where I used to live. The proprietary class D, the small form, and... I like the looks...

Re: Thoughts on Benchmark AHB2 sound ...

Would like to try the LA4. When I had my AHB2 it was paired with with an Ayre KX-5 Twenty. I liked that combo except for the mechanical noise of the Ayre's volume control.
  6. Re: Post a Picture, a Photograph, an Image, a Drawing.....That you like to share.

From a few years ago, shot in Portland, ME. On film using a twin lens reflex... don't remember which one I used.

    Re: Benchmark ahb2 power amplifier?

^ If I ever go back to separates, those AGD Audions would be on my list.

    Re: Benchmark ahb2 power amplifier?

I had one for a while; only sold it because I moved to an integrated.

I liked the small form, but it was really crowded on the back. Getting two and going the mono route would make cabling...

Re: Most of today’s recordings are ‘fake’

I hate most auto-tune vocals but many people seem to like it. The world is big enough to accommodate both types.

It's easy to get caught up in process when it's the final result that matters. ...

    Re: vivid 1.5 owners?

Have had a pair of 1.5s for seven years, and have really enjoyed them. Just last month I got a pair of BMC PureVox (got the system change itch).

It's not so much an upgrade as a side-grade. New,...

    Re: B.M.C. PureVox

Luckily there are a few options out there for people like me. It seems that boxes became the norm because they are easier and cheaper to make. Nothing in nature that makes sound is box-shaped after...

    Re: B.M.C. PureVox

They arrived Monday, and I'm running them in. Shouldn't need too much time since they were demo models. Still playing with placement, need to try the tone adjustment, and then I'll take new room...

    Re: Remastered vs Original... thoughts

Most remasters of rock / pop that I've come across are worse than the original, provided the original was made before the whole "loudness wars" phenomenon started. The remasters end up being more...

    Re: B.M.C. PureVox

Yes... Have read good things about their amps as well.

They make one other speaker, Arcadia, which is a huge jump in price and size.

    B.M.C. PureVox

Have been interested in these for a while, and finally pulled the trigger on a demo pair... should have them in a week. They don't seem to be very well known and a search here yielded no results for...

    Would love to hear these:

Not a lot of reviews yet, but the mentions so far are really good. Pics are from the manufacturer's site.

Re: Who Sits and Only Listens?

Re: Where Are All the Bob Ross Paintings?

A lack of art education, inexperience in seeing, and a general aesthetic laziness, will lead to the glorification of the trite, the cliche, and the kitschy.

I understand that a lot of the Bob Ross...
  22. Re: Post a Picture, a Photograph, an Image, a Drawing.....That you like to share.

Wow... what timing to get that bear shot!
  23. Re: Post a Picture, a Photograph, an Image, a Drawing.....That you like to share.

The old cameras, with no auto settings, are for the most part the opposite of shooting with digital.

Never took photo in art school (learned a tiny bit of darkroom printing from a friend, which...
  24. Re: Can anyone suggest a Tech in the Philly area to repair a Counterpoint NPS-400?

Years ago I used Chris Ready to restore an Accuphase E-202 amp. He is a little south of Philly, just off of I-95 near the Delaware border. I have no idea if he's still in business, but I'll PM the...
  25. Re: Post a Picture, a Photograph, an Image, a Drawing.....That you like to share.
