Re: Speaker suggestions for large room

Magnepan 3.7i will excel in a large room of this size. MSRP $6,600. Due to the hard reflective surfaces, you will probably need to experiment with their tweeter resistors and acoustic panels behind...

    Re: N30 Review

Itís amazing how both chassis are almost completely full. The power supply must be significantly improved over the N20. How much SSD storage will the N30 hold and what will be the MSRP?

  3. Re: Why CDs may actually sound better than vinyl (Article)

I much prefer the sound quality of pre-loudness wars CDs. Significantly better in my opinion.

Re: Ideal Room Size for S7s

Having auditioned the S7ís several times, I would say they can fill the largest room with beautiful sound and sufficient bass. These babies can crank! I listened in a room that was approximately 30í...

I honestly donít understand the point of threads like these. I feel they add little value. No offense and no tomatoes please.

Thanks MEP, I really appreciate that information.

  7. Re: Qobuz, Tidal, etc. claim another victim...

Maybe I should consider switching from Tidal to Quobuz. How does Quobuzís jazz catalog compare to Tidalís? Jazz is mostly what I listen to these days.

    Thanks,

  8. Re: Qobuz, Tidal, etc. claim another victim...

You raise a great point. This leaves a gap on Analogue Productionís substantial DSD catalog. I own a number of these in SACD format but I would have purchased the remainder as DSD downloads from...
  9. Re: Qobuz, Tidal, etc. claim another victim...

I totally agree, apples and oranges. The issue with Tidal is a financial one. They continue to pay most artists but some they do not pay, probably due to cash flow issues. The artists that catch up...

This is sad news. I hope HDTracks hangs in there.

    Re: MSB new pricing model

    Hi Jim,

You will still need their preamp module even if you use an external preamp with their DACs. You have to choose between balanced or single-ended outputs. Itís been this way for awhile. You...

Re: MSB Reference analog preamp questions

I have the same preamp module in my Select DAC as whatís available in the Reference DAC. This preamp module outperformed my Audio Research Reference 10 preamp in every way in my system, so I ended up...

    Re: MSB new pricing model

Everyone knows about MSBís new factory and CNC machines from their Facebook page. What I was specifically referring to was that you stated in your first post that the price of each of MSBís DAC...

Do you know all this for a fact? Do you work for MSB or are you a MSB dealer?

    Re: MSB new pricing model

I will certainly try the Pro USB input module on my Select DAC if and when I move to a new server where the preferred connection is USB (e.g. Taiko Extreme or Aurender N20).

    Re: Estelon Forza

    Hi Mike,

They looked impressive and sounded terrific on your videos but with their recent increases, the U.S. pricing is really high (MSRP $150K). Especially when you could purchase Vivid G1...

    Re: Esoteric XD Series

If you can demo both, all the better. I had the Shunyata Sigma Clock Cable, which was the best at that time.

    Re: Esoteric XD Series

If it were me, I would purchase the Cybershaft clock. I owned the Grandioso K1 Player two years ago and I loved the sound it produced. I added the Grandioso G1 Master Clock and the magic was gone....

    Re: MSB new pricing model

    Hi Mike,

These are fair points. With the companyís new factory and tooling machinery, they have a larger monthly nut to cover. Their long-term financial health is an important issue.
