    Re: Zellaton

If someone posts videos of a system, they should prepare to get opinions on what it sounds like, be it positive or negative. Otherwise, why did they post it in the first place? I have done many live...

    Re: Zellaton

Well, I listened to the videos. Based on what I heard on the videos, they are not my cup of tea. They are way too lean and treble focused for my taste.

Comparatively, I prefer the balanced and...

    Re: Becoming Mozart

Listening to Mozart on the PBS video makes me long for the days when I was a Cellist. Not surprised to see MBL 101Eís in the listening room. World class speakers for world class music.

Meddle is a terrific album. I love to listen to Animals when Iím driving by myself on a lonely highway in the middle of the night.

    My favorites were always:
1973 - Dark Side of the Moon
    1975- Wish You Were Here
    1977- Animals

In that order. Three tremendous albums in a five-year period.

  10. Re: Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond 1990 Live Video

I saw them in the 80ís with Gilmour, Wright and Mason. The emphasis was totally on music and off the lyrics with the band drawing little to no attention to themselves. I felt like they were painting...

Re: Impressive first listen - Esoteric K01XD

Seems that it may impact the USB Digital Input Modules.

Re: Impressive first listen - Esoteric K01XD

Iíve always felt that Esotericís one box solutions are their sweet spot (Iíve owned 3 of them). The quality of their transports combined with the latest DAC technology is a winning formula.

    Re: Esoteric N-01XD

I would agree. Much like Magico, Esoteric continually moves forward to improve their sound quality. Next to MSB, Esoteric are my favorite digital source components. Their transports are second to...

    Re: Esoteric N-01XD

    Hi Joe,

The Esoteric sound really changed starting with the Grandioso K1. Much more musical but some detail was sacrificed. The XD Series appears to have addressed this effectively. The Premier...

Isnít the K01XD a lot more money than the MSB Discrete?

Re: MSB dac review by Audio Excellence ..,

The better value but not better sounding. 4 DAC modules versus 2 DAC modules equals greater voltage gain and lower distortion. Since you already own it, I would hold my ground if I were you.

Re: MSB dac review by Audio Excellence ..,

My priority order has always been:

    1. Speakers
    2. Source
    3. Amplifier
    4. Preamp (If needed)

Please note on my earlier comments on the Premier DAC, Iím not saying that it isnít superior to...

Re: Sad news...Brian Russell passes away

The Bryston 3B was my first amp too. I wanted but couldnít afford the 4B. It was mated with the 0.5B preamp and Apogee Duetta Signatures and sounded marvelous. Those were the days!
