No super expensive casework/knobs/etc and factory direct = looks like a lot of bang for the buck.

The big question for me with any pre or integrated is 'how does the volume control work'.
Lots of pre's have SO MUCH GAIN that by the time you get the knob to nine o'clock it's ridiculously... -

I would pay five thousand dollars for a modern pair of DQ-10's. Nostalgia is pricey, but worth it.

If the volume pot was the face of a clock - when you are listening at a comfortable level - is the line on the volume pot at 7 o'clock? 9 o'clock? Noon? 1 o'clock?
