Re: I guess it's time to go....
I have had tinnitus for decades as a result of a head injury sustained in a cycling accident. You might try Lipo-Flavonoid or vinpocetine. Neither one of these is a proven clinical treatment, but...

Re: New Luxman d-10x sacd/cd-player
So, I finally bought the D-10X from Suncoast since that's where I heard about it first, and Mike was so keen on it when it was introduced. I could have bought anything. I was going to go listen to...

Re: LTA/Steve Guttenberg/Are there true bargains in the high end?
In LTA you may have chosen an exception to the rule. Their engineering designs are the work of David Berning who is something of an audio legend with several patents to his name. His own company's...

Re: Lifespan of Capacitors
I'm going to cry when the electrolytic capacitors die in my custom hybrid amplifier's power supply. Those 16 Black Gate FK 10,000 uF cost around $4K 20 years ago and are now unobtainum!
Oh, it's... -

I still like my Magnepan 3.6s, but that's probably because I've modified the heck out of them (also owned 3.5s and T-1Ds).

Wow, what a journey! You are so lucky to have Phil work on things. One thing that surprises me is the ground loops he found and repaired that seemed to be part of the original design.

Re: Anyone here purchase physical Gold and or Silver?
Well, if you're concerned about a doomsday scenario, maybe it makes sense for you. You have to determine what your exit plan is if it doesn't happen and how much you can afford to put at risk given...

Re: Anyone here purchase physical Gold and or Silver?
I'm really not sure why anyone would want to do this. As the attached article shows, long term returns for stocks and bonds are higher than gold, and gold's standard deviation of returns makes it a...

Great! Would be interested to hear your feedback on these. I have 11 sets of Center Stage under electronics as well as the ultra footers under my speakers. TT would be next.

Last recent purchase was a rack mounted, Equitech 2RQ, a 72 lb., 2kVA, bifilar-wound, isolation transformer for the front-end of my system. I didn't think I had any noise problems, but boy was this...

Re: Couple Subwoofer for Dummies questions
I wouldn't either. Only use the Dual Core 2.0 on subs after my XO. Most recently, it's often bypassed, so it's only used for a volume control. My room modes actually aren't all that audible.

Re: Couple Subwoofer for Dummies questions
I've used the Dual Core 2.0 on and off since about 2014. Very easy to use and gets the job done. The wall wart power supply is noticeably veiled /opaque in a really good set-up if you're using this...

Here are the ones you should buy. I have them on my Pass Labs XVR-1 3way crossover. Outstanding! Not that expensive - quick ship too. There's a thread over on WBF about them.

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
