    Re: Buchardt S400II speakers In-Bound

I meant paper cones are typically more efficient.
  5. Re: Should Audio Components Sizes Be Standard?

I may not have been clear, I was sort of giving both sides of the coin. In order to make a small unit fit on a regular shelf without looking odd due to space you'd have to enlarge the chassis. This...

    Re: Buchardt S400II speakers In-Bound

Looks to be a Danish company that sells direct. There are reviews but I haven't read them yet. Look forward to your comments and how the sound compares to Dynaudio.

    One thing I found interesting...

  9. Should Audio Components Sizes Be Standard?

I borrowed this idea from Future Audiophile who ran an article on the subject, I thought it might be fun to see what you guys think.

I sort of laughed to myself when a member talked about building...

    Re: Which Esoteric amp?

    Isn't the S02 discontinued?

There are quiet fan options you could use to dissipate some of the heat.

If you have an Esoteric front end with the current drive peature you can get even more...

    Re: Tobian SoundSystems

Congrats. First I've heard of them. I'd love to check out that amp. I'll have to research it 140 lbs seems a lot to reproduce a few watts, LOL

    Re: Dartzeel LHC-208 mk2

I don't recall the model it was a couple years back I do recall the integrated was around $10k USD. I did a quick search but didn't find anything on the room, however, I did see there are a couple...

    Re: *NEW* Esoteric N-05XD

I would add if your friend was not using a section of the N05xd the networking and preamp section can be turned off. In my case I just use the DAC section and this is how I configured mine.

Re: B&W to be “spun off”

My take is Bones is correct the company had a vision/plan for use of Sound United. There was an earlier article published on this and demonstrated by Denon's ear buds that measure the inside of your...

    Re: Dartzeel LHC-208 mk2

The best I have ever heard with SF was being driven by Jadis. I've heard Sonus with several brands the Jadis combo is the only one I'd actually could listen to. Personally I feel Mac & SF are not...

Re: To clock or not to clock?

Why would the clock not work if you use USB out from the source? I would be USB to DAC then 10 MHz connection from DAC to clock.

Bottomline the clock would not do me any good because I only have...

Re: To clock or not to clock?

The owner's manual does not. I read the G05 just this morning and it's very vague. It tells you how to hook it up and that's about it.

I'm not the OP. In my situation I only have the ACS10...

I found this, just an example of why I'm in the dark.
One Master to Rule Them All
Which brings up another point — there can only be one master clock in a digital system. If multiple devices are...

Re: To clock or not to clock?

Then what is the 10 MHz connection for? If it's as you say it seems all sources should connect to the clock, pass through it then out an output which then would go to the DAC.

    From what you are...
  22. Re: Has anybody here received NEW defective music CD's. DVD movies or Blu-ray disc movies right out of the box?

You used to be able to purchase movies from Apple and Amazon to download but I'm not sure if that content then becomes yours or you can only use it as long as you are a subscriber.

    I have a friend...

Re: To clock or not to clock?

On another thread someone said using the 10 MHz connection the external clock takes the place of the DAC's internal clock. Some friends say clocks won't do anything unless you have more than one...

  25. Re: Has anybody here received NEW defective music CD's. DVD movies or Blu-ray disc movies right out of the box?

I wouldn't expect movies on thumb drive. This didn't even take off for music unless you downloaded your own. It's just not a format that was ever pushed and with the majority of people fine with...
