    Re: Magico Titan

I don’t think it has anything to do with the Q series. Isn’t “Q“ a designation or measurement for dampening or resonance? I think it’s a new generation of subwoofers. The Q line is more or less...

    Re: Magico M6 Review

They never play a simply string quartet or concerto. That would be more revealing through these videos, IMO. I will say there is a lot going on in that video.

    Re: Fyne Audio F1-10

Congratulations. I think these are excellent looking speakers and would love to hear them. I've read some excellent reports. I might have preferred the controls on the back of the speakers though...

    Re: Brodricj's system

YG speakers need amplifiers with a lot of power so I assume that means heavy amplifiers. I'm surprised that their amp stands are not designed with this in mind as a default or that they would ship...

    Re: Magico M2 vs M3

I spent a day with an owner and his dealer replacing a blown tweeter. It was not for the faint of heart. Moving the front baffle out far enough to have room to install the new tweeter was time...

Have you tried removing the CS2 footers to see what happens to the sound?

    Re: Magico A5’s Arrive!!!!

Is the A5 as revealing/transparent as other Magico speakers or is it voiced slightly differently? I ask because some think the Q series is simply ruthless and tough to listen to, especially the...

    Re: MAGICO M9’s

I like the way you think.

I can not afford a speaker like the Magico M9, though I would love to own the M3. In Tokyo perhaps even the M2. I do have the Q3s and think they are wonderful speakers....
  9. Re: New speakers: Magico M3 v Rockport Cygnus v YG Sonja 2.2 v Gryphon Pantheon

Jim, could you write a bit more about the M3's positive attributes, or what you heard from the system once you were finished voicing it? I am also curious about what amplifier the client is using...

Re: What cartridges are you using?

OK, that makes sense. I thought you were talking in absolute terms not value for the money. I agree that MSL is a very good value. Are you now the US distributor taking over from AJ Conti of Basis...

Re: What cartridges are you using?

Hello Mike, There are certainly different opinions about vd Hull cartridges versus the MSL. I happen to like both brands. People seem to be divided between the more forgiving warmer sound of the...

Re: Pass XP27 arrives at Suncoast Audio

I replaced my XP25 with the new XP27. Very worthwhile upgrade. Lower noise, more music.

Re: Which TurnTable - 50K range?

I love my SME model 30/12 with V-12 arm and vdH Mater Signature. The issue is only one arm And SME seems to be out of favor these days. I have to have money for eight years and it is incredibly...

Re: Which TurnTable - 50K range?

I second the TechDAS AF3P. I would get an SME 3012R tonearm or two in good condition and a vdH Master Signature cartridge. I would also contact David Karmeli for turntable advice. There may also...
  17. Re: Pass Laboratories XA200.8 pure Class A monoblock amplifiers Review, Part 1

I compared my XA160.5 to a friend's XA160.8 in my system with my old Magico Mini IIs. Everyone there much preferred the .5. Then a few weeks later, we compared the same two amps in my friend's...

Re: Whispers of a Magico M9 Coming Soon?

That would be interesting. There does seem to be a sweetspot for the model 3: A3, S3, Q3, M3. An M5 would be interesting. It very well might depend on what model is least successful against its...

Re: Whispers of a Magico M9 Coming Soon?

The skin and driver technology between the M9 and M3 seems so radically different, that I don't see how there could be an M3 Mk2. I see a new line with a new letter designation like R, X etc. Or...

    Re: Pass Labs XP-32

Thank you everyone for the kind words. I find it is easy to write when I know what to say. This was a pleasure, and I hope that others get a change to hear this excellent preamp.
