Amen, I'm not sure what's in the drinking water in Binghamton these days but Mac has two ugly ducklings with both their TT and CD/SACD players. They'd be best to stick to amps and pre-amps

Calvin, I too have the x260.8's, given there high initial Class A bias I see no valid reason for leaving them on. If I am getting into a serious listening session a hour warmup is all that's needed....

Gary, what is it about your 300a you find lacking ? It appears to be a fine amp that doubles down(stable) and unless your listening tastes are of high spl's what would you expect to gain ?

agreed 100% You say distortion at 'high levels', what spl's ? Given your small room it's quite possible that @ high levels the acoustics of your room can't handle the spl ......

the initial Class A bias of the 260's is actually 18 watts greater than that of the 250. Remember, a Class A amp at idle has but one way to dissipate it's energy, through heat for there is no load...
