  2. Re: Joining the system: Brinkmann Taurus turntable - stunning industrial design with superb performance

Like Kuoppis, I too am an ex-owner of the AMG Viella V12 with matching Turbo tonearm. Over the last year, I've been able to listen to several highend turntables covering direct drive, rim drive and...

    Re: HW40 arrives - 400 of 400

I just spent an afternoon auditioning this table. I agree that it has some real strengths, including being dynamic and punchy. Of all the reviews published so far, the one that that I think hits the...

    Re: AMG v12 TURNTABLES

Bob, I traded up to a Turbo arm from the standard one for my V12 and the difference was a significant and worthwhile one. The Turbo arm is beautifully engineered and works seamlessly with the V12...

    Re: ARC REF75SE vs REF150SE

I disagree. It very much depends on the speakers you're driving. REF 75SE has only 2 tubes per channel vs 4 in the REF150SE. If 75 watts is all you need, the greater simplicity offers sonic dividends.

    Re: Music First Preamps...Thoughts?

I've just taken delivery of an MFA Baby Reference V2, and I'm very taken with it. The sound I'm getting is delightful and musically engaging. So count me in on this particular fan club. I struggle to...

Re: Taking my AMG V12 for a spin...

Hello Kuoppis, I have just stumbled across your thread and I have read it with great interest. The AMG V12 was one of the darling TT’s 4-5 years ago and I read Alan Sircom’s 2014 review in detail....
  11. Re: Linear Tube Audio MZ2 - MicroZOTL2.0 Preamplifier/Headphone Amplifier ...

I am intrigued by Pani's report on the Linear Tube Audio MicroZOTL2 preamp. I too tried this preamp at home and compared it to the Shindo Masseto I owned at the time. In these comparisons, so much...

Hi everyone. My dealer has got in touch with me to say that there was a fault with the ZOTL 40 I auditioned, so take my earlier comments with a grain of salt. Apparently there was a problem with the...

    Re: Heco Direkt

Yes Everest, very true, the Devore O's are considerably more expensive and I should have made that clear. The Heco Direkt's are remarkably good value and a great option for small to medium rooms. I...

    Re: Heco Direkt

As no one else appears to have listened to these vs the Devore O's, I'll add a quick opinion. I listened to the Heco Direkt's on my recent speaker journey. They are good - for the money. They need...

Re: Entreq Ground Boxes & Cables

Another endorsement of Entreq grounding boxes. My tube power amp and tube preamp are connected to a Poseiden via Apollo cables. What I have heard in my system is a larger & fuller soundstage, more...

Having owned an Aurieges, a Monbrison and now a Masseto, I agree that 'natural' is a good description as is 'full bodied', 'ballsy' and 'smile inducing'. And with a tonal beauty that is hard to beat....
  20. Re: Linear Tube Audio and David Berning, the ZOTL40 Mk. II ...

I trialled the ZOTL 40 in my home system for 4 days driving my 91dB, genuine 8 ohm, 3-way floorstanders (a relatively easy load). I wanted to like them but I was disappointed. I am mystified by the...

    Re: KT150 amps

An interesting thread. I believe that the Quicksilver Mono 120's are optimised for KT150's and I'm told they are a significant step up from the previous Silver 88's with KT150's, although I have not...

I purchased a pair of Devore Gibbon X's earlier this year. I don't particularly like the Gibbon 88's but the X's are a different kettle of fish entirely. I spent over 2 years looking and listening to...

    Re: Proac D25

As a Proac enthusiast, I've read your thread with great interest. I'm surprised though that you chose the D25 over the D38. In pure sound terms, the D38 is superior to my ears.
