A bigger amp isn't an "upgrade" unless you need more power. The more simple the circuit the better. The 30.8 has a lot of juice. Do you need more?

Yes Mike I had them in the 211, not an output situation, but the effect vs others was -> very clean with a KT88 quality to it. I didn't love it.

The only tweak to the avocet is output gain, but that's not it. I simply didn't care for any part of the amp. The texture, image, freq balance, etc. Plenty of power. More than I have now.

The room is beyond excellent. I'm a mastering engineer. Warm up was 9 hours. The unit is fully broken in. Pre amp is discrete class A Crane Song Avocet, had it for 10 years, very musical and...

Spent an hour too long with a year old fully broken in XA 30.8. I don't understand the love for these amps.
The low end is hugely powerful, the high mids/top rather painful in my system. -
