    Re: Harbeth goes XD

I was working at the Bristol Show and had the opportunity of hearing the P3XD. What Alan has managed to do is create a flat frequency response across most of the range. Sounded very coherent to me...

Re: small scratch on my magico s3mk2

In the United Kingdom we have a polishing compound called Farcela G3 permanent scratch remover. It’s a thick white consistency. I would try a small area to see if it has any effect.

    Re: Vitus SS-103 or SM-011?

This was the C1.1 standmount. The Harbeth P3 Anniversary is an easier load.

Re: Do you prefer SS or tube? Why?

Vitus brought me back to SS.

Was as fed up with the heat, tube quality, bias adjustments and reliability issues.

Just switch on now and an hour later everything is ready every time.

Re: Harbeth P3 Anniversary (my review)

These are similar findings to mine. I was first introduced to this speaker at a local HiFi show a year ago. I could hear straight away there was something special going on. The sound is so BIG...

    Harbeth P3 Anniversary (my review)

I first heard about Harbeth from the November 2007 edition of Hi Fi News. They ran a feature on the history of Harbeth. The article covered the company’s history including the loudspeaker cone...

Re: Atacama or Quadraspire bamboo racks?

Bamboo is very strong. I have never ‘heard’ it. Naturally sourced so I think it will be very similar to wood with its presentation.
  11. Re: Lumin D1 with Music First Audio Baby Reference V2 - Too much bass

All that silver internal wire will need to burn in. I would do the serious listening one week before the trial ends.

Re: Atacama or Quadraspire bamboo racks?

You will be getting ringing from the metal and the glass shelves will add their own sonic signature by pushing the treble forward.

Wood is best. Torlyte is a honeycomb design and performs well....

    Re: Sia-030?

I can assist here. To surpass the sia-025 has been more of a challenge than was anticipated. Designer has said they are nearly there now.

Re: Harbeth 40.2 anni. or the Verity Otello

He had Verity Audio but doesn’t anymore which I think speaks volumes.

Harbeth had three engineering students working for two years to produce their Radial cone material. Now in Radial 2 version...

    Re: Vitus SS-103 or SM-011?

The magic with Vitus is class A mode. A total of 25 watts with the SIA-025 or much more with Ri100, more watts but no class A mode. My Harbeths are only 83.5db efficiency and the SIA-025 has no...

My estimate of the Sabrina's voltage sensitivity on the tweeter axis was 88.2dB/2.83V/m, slightly higher than the specified 87dB. Wilson...

You need to get some footers under those Vitus boxes to make them really sing. Did Richard assist with your move away from Naim?

    Re: Vitus SIA-025 dream gear

I think this may have been the update that increased the class A/B output from 100 to 150 watts per channel. Please note that class A is where the magic is though.
